A breezy day w/Nicklaus
The layout is challenging…more so playing Tees #1 and #2. Tees and fairways were in great shape but manygreens had weeds making the otherwise undulations more challenging. Very nicely landscaped course. Cart service has everything…including Tylenol and advil, and a drink that one native called a “Shot Straightener”…but didn’t seem to help this player.
Signature hole was PARTICULARLY fierce as there was a variable 15-20 mph South wind. 2+ extra club length. Carts do not have layout and distances to pin.
Best to play slowly in the off season to allow time to enjoy the surroundings: eagles, hawks, herons, egrets turtles etc.
Excellent Course to play
My first time playing this course, staff at check in was very friendly and provided an excellent overview of course. Starter also took great pride to explain the course, pen location etc. highly recommended playing with if you are visiting the area.
Nicest course in Panama City Beach
Lots of picturesque views. Water on almost every hole. Made you think about shot selection on many holes.
Bay Point
Probably one the most difficult courses in Panama City. Lot’s of water.
Out of Town Fan
This golf course has spoiled me from all the home courses I’ve played. The staff was overly accommodating and friendly. I felt as if it was my home course despite never playing here before.
I must say the course was very difficult-unexpectedly so. But that I guess is a fair challenge considering the climate.
Overall a fantastic experience.
Go Fore It!
I loved this course the minute we drove up. The nicest guy greeted us and brought us our cart. The pro shop staff was top notch! We loved the course . You see water, Big deal….GO FORE IT!!! It was a great time and challenging at the same time.
Afterwards the bag boy was so polite! Our entire experience was great! Would highly recommend!
Jacks Name questioned.
So I’m not from the area. To see the course was designed by Jack made me want to play it. Pulled in to a lovely pro shop with nice employees. Plus we ate before playing chicken wrap was amazing. But they told no starter should be good and not too slow. Got to the first green weeds were growing on them. Some greens didn’t have a fringe cut. All the tee boxes had trash and some not maintained at all. Then of course the pace of play was at all time slow. One group bottled neck the entire course. We had groups behind us. In need of a ranger and needs to drop the price to play here The Bear would would be ashamed that they use his name with the overall up keep.
Course decent, price not
overall, the course was in decent shape however there is no way that it is worth $130.
Nicest course in PCB
This is the nicest of the 3 local courses in the immediate PCB area. Quite challenging at times. The yardages can be deceiving and the course seems to play long. Fairways in good shape. Greens were so-so with some sort of grass sprouting on them that can affect your putts. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I will be back.
Players
Starter was great, but the five some behind us were knob heads hitting g up on us when we couldn't go anywhere, yelling ,to bad they had to ruin the day.
Bay Point first
The staff at Bay Point was outstanding. Pro shop people were outgoing, friendly and helpful as this was my first time here. The starter and cart attendants were very helpful and friendly also. The course played well. There were high winds and the difficulty was increased as a result. The pace of play was good for the first 9 holes. Then we ran into several holes that were backed up and slow. But overall it was a good day to play.
Excellent local course for the money and challenging.
Course was in good shape and very challenging. I liked the layout and sand traps were all in good condition. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Good value for the money.
Nice course
Great place to play. Only issue was 8 golfers playing together. Held up everyone.
