Need GPS
The course is in very good shape and they keep it that way. It is not a long course and I played from the tips. The only real problem I had was the yardage markers were very few and far between. I had thought with a nice course on Sanibel Island ($$$) they would have GPS or more info on yards and position so we mistakenly did not bring along the range finder. Big mistake. I guessed on shots all day and it left my score card showing it. It's a tight course so yardage and placement are key. The GPS pad on the cart would make a ton of difference and a more enjoyable round.
Very nice Golf Course
a very nice place in a great landscape. The staff were very polite, the Golf Course is in very good condition. Unfortunately after our round at 3:30 pm pro shop and restaurant were closed.
Great course!
Played as a single in under 3 hrs! (mid-day, mid-May) Breezy and sunny. Excellent conditions of fairways and greens. Short, but lots of water. Really need course guide or GPS if playing first time. Friendly and helpful staff. Note to visitors: toll bridge to Sanibel Island ($6 for a car); gators.
lots of water
bring lots of balls-water on every hole-course was in excellent shape-keep it in play and its fun
Great little course
Very pleasant starter,. Lots of water!! Very hard even though it looks easy.
Liked it so much we are playing it again tomorrow.
Bring lots of balls.
Lots of birds and enjoyed watching a blad eagle eating a fish on the fairway of #16
The Course is in Good Condition!!
The course is in good condition and the pace of the play is good. The layout is not long but very testing as you have to be very accurate with your tee and approach shots. The staff and patrons are super friendly. I would recommend this course for everyone..
Nice Views
Challenging course, water on every hole, narrow fairways. Greens are small and not in the best of shape. Snack bar and green fees are overpriced. Heard the Dunes has new owners, hopefully they will make some changes and improvements.
Great course
Very happy with golfnow booking, on a whim i booked a 930 tee time at 1145 the nite before, when i called at 8am we where reserved and ready to golf. Staff was very well informed of course conditions, pace of play, and pin location. Course layout on paper, and on hole markers. Nice little practice range with floating balls u hit into a lagoon. All in all my favorite course on Sanibel island and ive played very private courses here. Open to the public and wonderful staff. Highly recommendable course to fellow golfers
Nice short course, some greens not so good
Friendly staff. Nice layout, but short course even off the back Tees. Some greens aren't in good shape. Much traffic around noon, but good pace. Many animals and alligators.
Water!
Beautiful course and wildlife. A lot of water, need to be accurate and hit straight, or bring alot of balls!
Target Golf
Know your yardages, this is a short but challenging course with water on every hole. It's one of those courses that you'll play better the second time after you acquire the local knowledge on where to place your shots. You'll also have some alligators watching you play!
Difficult but beautiful
Very nice course. When you play this course first time, it is quite difficult, because orientation is more challenging and water hazards will steal your balls.
Wunderschöne Golfanlage
Vielen Dank Golfnow.
Wir haben mit 4 Personen zum ersten Mal The Dunes gespielt. Wunderschöne Golfanlage, alle Löcher sind um das Wasser gebaut, mittelschwer
Einige sehr grosse Aligator
Sehr nettes Personal.
Hat Spass gemacht.
Best on the Island.....but...
Expensive compared to other better courses in the area. Greens are so-so. 5500 yd from back tees par 70. Due to trying to get this course on a small piece of land, players are hitting into your tees that are just off the greens you just played. Lots of outings from the hotels around and "vacation" golfers slow the play in Jan-March season. Plus, the traffic is so bad you need to add an extra 1/2 hour travel time to sit in line and $6.00 bridge toll to get here. If you're already on Sanibel Island, and can get a deal to play it, then do so. But don't go out of your way to play here.
greens
the practice green was magnificent-the greens on the course were too small-no bite when hitting irons at the pin and the grass appeared to have been diseased in areas-nice gators-saw two
Lots of Water!
Wanted to play while vacationing on Sanibel. Course is short for women with water, water everywhere! Somehow we found a reduced rate on your site as I would have been very unhappy paying $130/person. Surprised that there are no locker rooms where you can change clothes/shoes. Overall it was a great afternoon.
Dunes
Lots of water bring plenty of balls
Need to add more yardage markers
Staff was great
Best course on Sanibel Island
Just like last year the stall was friendly and the course was in excellent condition. Bring plenty of balls or grab some extras at the clubhouse. Use your "smart clubs" rather than your "tin cup" set and you'll leave with some balls still in your bag. Play hero here and you'll be feeding the gators! Enjoy a great round on a great course.
Very pretty course, lots of water and lots birds!
This very pretty course was fully booked when we played, but we started right on time and finished in just over four hours. There's water everywhere, some tight lies and lots of beautiful birds on almost every hole. The back nine is a bit more spacious, with fewer houses and an even more "natural" feeling. The clubhouse restaurant has limited evening hours, so check before teeing off if you're thinking of grabbing a quick drink or bite to eat after your round. This is a pricey round of golf, even with the Golf Now discount; but all three of us were glad to have played it.
Course is overpriced
Course is very, very short. Water aplenty, but not punitive. Greens have lots of slope. If you're not under the hole, likely three putt. The condition of the course and its shortness make it very overpriced..
