Too Expensive
The course is in regular condition with price of a manicured golf course, too expensive for the price, the maintenance is badly and the staff is with bad attitude.it is a shame because the location and the design of the course is prime!
Slow play
They allowed a 5 ball in front of us slowing up play with no control..Ness on the 1st tee delayed tee off time.Resulted in not finishing the last 3 holes despite tee time 4hrs 15 minutes before sundown.
Better than I expected
There are a lot of rough reviews out there, so I wasn’t expecting much. But the round and the course were actually pretty good. We had a (male) starter that was very helpful. The pace of play was pretty typical for a weekend - 4 hours 20 minutes for a midday round. As for conditions, the greens were excellent and pretty fast, at least down-grain. Tees were fine. The fairways were hit or miss, definitely some rough spots. We had a hot deal that was basically half price, so the value was very good. At full price I’d be mildly annoyed with the fairway conditions.
Crandon Park Golf
I golf all over the world. I was just in the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks for the grand opening of teeth of the dog.
This is the worst value $ wise for golf I have ever played in my life. Horrible fairways, totally chewed up. Rough that isn’t golf rough. Just bad. 250$ a player is crazy.
Worst management ever
If you book through golf now they treat you like a second class citizen! There are two women there who will force you to share a cart with a random stranger who books at the same time as you! While 15 carts are sitting there not being used! They will force you to hurry up even know you have 10 min. In my case they told me I could go off early, just to get with starter. Then they told me not only can I not go early I have to share a cart with a stranger. Then was told there would be four of us and when the 4 arrived 10 min before our tee time they forced them off??? Like wt f guys make up your mind! The manager actually told me you can share a cart or call GolfNow for a refund! I was excited to spend extra money to drive all the way past Miami and before I tee off I am being yelled at made to feel cheap and treated like butt by some cart women and her angry female boss
What happened to Crandon?
The layout and location of this track are, of course, great. Nice views. The greens are even good. The fairways are hardpan, weeds, or even sand/dirt. But what really hurts this course is terrible management. Out of the gate, the woman who is the starter/cart attendant is determined to be loud and make herself the center of attention and treats patrons like 10 year olds. They will also way overschedule the tee sheet, resulting in exceptionally slow play. One might be inclined to relax and accept this as part of muni golf, but then you are shocked to experience incessant and obnoxious beeping from your cart, beginning at 6:10pm demanding that you return your cart to the shop by 6:50 (In May! Sunset time 8pm). At 7:10pm on the 18th tee, after waiting several minutes to play (as we did on every hole), our carts were disabled by the pro shop. There were probably a dozen carts stranded all over the place with a solid hour of light left. A full hour. An attendant came out and scolded us saying "You're late" despite the fact that they knew we had waited every hole and were right on top of our preceding group.
So they charge absurdly high green fees, over-pack the course, and then claim that they just can't afford to pay a couple low wage employees an extra hour to catch carts. Instead, they'll just treat you poorly. My playing partners, who I had assured were going to love Crandon, were so rattled they picked up and didn't finish 18. It was truly embarrassing.
It takes talent and will to screw up such a beautiful layout and location, but they have done it.
slow play
I know it is Sunday but there was n o ranger to push groups faster. I finished my round in 4 hours and 50 mins. My other 2 some stopped after 12 holes. A straggler from from hole 14 joined my 2some on 13 and played 1 more hole. He was on the course for over 5 hours!
Hermoso campo en maravilloso entorno
Es un hermoso campo de golf, en un entorno maravilloso, con vistas al océano y a Miami Downtown espectaculares.
Vale la pena el gasto…
Most overpriced course I have ever played considering the conditions
I travel for work and I have played a lot of different courses and I have no issues with paying premium prices, but the condition of the course is beyond terrible. While I understand that the area hasn’t seen a great deal of water and that’s what’s led to the burnt fairways, the weeds in the first cut is inexcusable.
Additionally, the cart girl passed me up because she was too engulfed in her phone to even notice I was even in the vicinity.
Needless to say, I will never play this course again.
Way too slow pace
Course has a challenging layout with plenty of distance and strategic hazards. The fairways had a ton of weeds growing over most of the course which is why I scored it low overall. Checking was chaotic with their systems not behaving. If it wasn’t for the golf now deal I would have over payed. I was surprised that they don’t clear some more of the trees on the shoreline so players can experience the fantastic water and downtown Miami views. That said, there is only a few peek-a-boo views of that great scenery.
Not Worth a Cent
I paid $200 for a tee time on a course that, on its best day, might be worth $65. The fairways were poorly maintained, bunkers had little to no sand, and the overall conditions were unacceptable. Staff interactions were consistently unpleasant—rude, dismissive, and seemingly annoyed by having customers at all.
No cart service until the 15th hole on a hot summer day, and no water stations anywhere on the course. That level of oversight is not just inconvenient—it’s irresponsible.
To make matters worse, I left my rangefinder attached to the cart magnet at the end of the round, assuming the course crew who collect and clean the carts would turn it in. I called immediately after getting home, then followed up for three days. Each time, I was met with indifference. On the third day, the pro shop staff told me, “I don’t know bro, just stop calling, we don’t have it.” That response sums up the overall level of professionalism at this facility.
I rarely leave reviews, but this experience deserved one. Save your money and your time, this place simply isn’t worth it.
Golfing in Paradise
Beautiful but difficult course. Set on the tiny island of Key Biscayne south of Miami, Crandon Park has some of the most beautiful scenery a course can provide. But it has just as many challenges. Lots of water carries. Tight fairways, doglegs and bunkers in all the tough places. Tabletop greens with tons of slope add to the difficulty. Crocodile warning signs will keep you from searching for stray shots. The course has a fully stocked pro shop, driving range and restaurant. Only major issue - and it was a real problem - was a lack of ranger. Should never take 5 hours on a half empty course.
Nice views, so-so service.
Took about 20min to check in. The system they have won’t allow you to check in easily and you should plan accordingly to arrive early before round. Greens are suspect.
