About Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Invoking its famous New York forebear, this Waldorf Astoria Property serves up similarly gracious luxury in a quiet corner between Orlando proper and the uber-popular Disney resort. Indeed, visitors to its parks will often choose this resort for its convenient location and quieter feel in the Bonnet Creek development. The Rees Jones-designed golf course is a draw, too.

Curious

The course facilities and layout were fantastic. However, roughly half of the greens had a pronounced fungus which made it difficult to either play or enjoy compared to the price. Overall, we were quite disappointed given the numerous quality options in the area for the price we paid.

Overall Good but Greens in rough shape

Overall course is nice but several greens are gone with others very spotty. Disappointing given the few and expectations.

Greens are dead!

Waldorf is known for impeccable conditions, and that is true for everything BUT the greens at the moment.

Beware on paying over 100$ for a round at the moment as 75% of the greens are dead and infected with diseases.

Good redesign

Good-1st time playing since redesign and the course changes are great. More open, several bunkers removed or moved. Lots of new chipping areas around greens. Changes on 4th hole are terrific. New par 3 on 16 is a wow. Bad-green speeds were uneven and some bumpy. A couple greens appear to be still growing in. Can't wait to play again when everything is perfect. Staff great as expected.

Great track, rough greens

Greens were very rough. Staff blames it on a fungus however all the other top courses in the area don’t have this issue. Disappointing overall.

Great course in poor condition

Played. This course many times, one of my favorite places. Unfortunately I would not recommend playing this right now. Something is going on with the greens. It looks like they painted them green. They are very slow and bumpy. The bunkers weren’t raked and there were many areas where the grass hadn’t been cut. Definitely not worth $250. Very disappointing experience.

Rough greens even though they said course was great; but everything else was great

Good and bad comments: The BAD: The greens were very rough. Apparently they've had issues due to weather since Oct/Nov. However, we played Celebration the next day and the greens were excellent there. The really frustrating part was that I called the course a week before we played and they told me the course was in great shape. I don't appreciate either being lied to or someone telling me it was in great shape when it was not. This needs to get fixed for customer satisfaction issues as well as proper ethics. The GOOD: This is a beautiful course. The layout is great and very enjoyable. It was challenging, yet very playable. The staff was very friendly. The facilities are very nice and new. The range was great with unlimited balls.

Green Conditions

As we had to pay full rate for the round at this course. The conditions of most of the greens were very poor. It was as though we were putting across green painted dirt. The head professional never mentioned this when we signed in in the pro shop and I do not think it warranted 250 dollars plus to play. The green fees should have been halved. Perhaps even Golf Now should review their pricing structure for this course at present because it did not warrant full price.

A challenging course with deep bunkers and an abundance of water

Fairways were in great condition as were the cart paths.

This course is challenging from any tee with deep bunkers and water on most holes.

A great course for low to mid-handicap golfers.

Tough for beginners and high handicap players.

I found the greens rather spongy and inconsistent

Pros. The staff were friendly, practice area nice. That’s where it stopped. Conditions of the greens were basically unplayable on some holes, tragically bad on other holes. 340 for the round and no mention that many of the greens were not worth putting. Uncut tee boxes and no ability to order food at the clubhouse after the round. They said food services needed at 4pm! How does they happen on a Saturday? Save your Monday and visit grand cypress, or better yet travel to southern dunes and get a great course for half the price.

Waldorf Golf

By getting a golf pass hot deal with extra credits was able to play this course. I think course is way over priced! The course is beautiful and close to our resort but prices over the last two years have been ridiculously high!

A little disappointed

The course was in very nice condition, however, I’m a bit disappointed in the condition of several of the greens that were bare or had very sparse turf. Also, the greens were incredibly slow. The laughing theme of our foursome was “who can smack it hard enough to get it to the hole”, and we just could not accomplish that. With the condition of those several greens, one would think the clubhouse would be offering discounted green fees, but that did not happen.
