Overall Good Condtion, but….

Course and pace was good. Was forced to ride in the same cart with a stranger. First time I’ve had this experience. And of all places, in Disney World. My riding partner was a female. It was awkward at first, but we tried our best. The experience was not what I expected to play golf. I know I didn’t drink as much because I didn’t want my playing partner to feel uncomfortable. Overall, not the best experience playing golf.

Nice course but not exceptional

If I paid anything close to the normal full fee to play this course I would be upset. It’s a Disney course so it caters to tourists, they are not too picky. The pace of play is terrible, there are many new golfers and it slows it down but that’s to be expected with the Disney tourists. It bothered me that they hit off mats on the range, especially for a course that charges $150+ for a round of golf. Hitting off matts just messes with my iron play, so I’m biased. The condition of the course I good, better than many of the public courses but not to the level of a private course. It’s a nice course but just not exceptional.

Overpriced and Misleading

I played this course with some friends off of a hot deal this past Sunday. The course itself was in okay condition. I get a hurricane just passed but we played other courses in better shape for much less. If we didn’t get a hot deal we would’ve payed $150-$170 for our round. On the second whole the starter told us we were playing to slow and backed up the first tee box, even though the group ahead of us took 20 minutes to reach the green, and caused us to tee off late. Then each hole was cut horrible, so if you didn’t drain the putt dead center of the hole it would lip out, which was incredibly frustrating. The most egregious part was hole 16 and 17. I understand the course is under construction however they mislead everything. Hole 16 is closed and you are teeing off from a temp tee box 80 yards to the right of the green, same with hole 17. On the website it says temp tees, but it does not say that two of the holes are chip and putts with an attack angle that makes the greens wide and skinny. Hole 16 looked finished so I don’t get why we couldn’t play it. Hole 17 is just not there, it’s just the green and you chip onto it from the 18th tee. They offer 15% off but the most expensive tee time is $170, so its already way overpriced. Play any other course in Orlando, it’ll be cheaper and kept way better. You are paying for the Disney name and that is it.

Amazing

Amazing, as is expected with any of the Disney facilities. Tee times were spread out enough, allowing a comfortable pace and not feel rushed by the group behind. One recommendation that I have is to take your time and read all the signs on the course…there is quite a bit of history regarding its stint on the PGA Tour.

I look forward to not only playing this course again, but also its sister course, The Magnolia.

Take your kids to Disney golf

My husband and I took our 6 year old granddaughter, who is learning to play, to LBV. We told the starter that we would not hold anyone up because she tees off and then putts, so there would be no delays. The staff was more than accommodating, and even encouraged her play. As it turned out, the foursome in front of us were fairly slow, so she had opportunity to take a few more shots than we anticipated. She loved the Disney themed holes and thoroughly enjoyed her experience! This was my husband and my second time playing here, and we enjoyed it as well. The conditions were good, especially given recent hurricanes in the area. We were also lucky enough to get beautiful weather. A great day!!

Decent but not worth the price

I had high expectations for this course given its Disney reputation and price, but it didn’t quite live up to them. The course conditions were passable, but not particularly noteworthy. It was disappointing to see a lot of unrepaired divots and ball marks on the greens, along with bunkers that hadn’t been properly raked. It seemed like the kind of wear you’d expect from a course that caters to vacationers just passing through.

The driving range was a letdown as well. The range balls were in bad shape, and the overall maintenance of the practice area left much to be desired.

On a positive note, the staff was very friendly, and the pace of play was decent, but with so many better-maintained and more affordable courses in the area, I don’t see myself coming back.

Holes were pretty basic and straight. Not much character.

Overall, the course was in good shape. A lot of the holes were straight with not many doglegs. I prefer to have to pick spots in the fairway vs just a straight hole. The greens were in decent shape but slower than I thought they would be.

Great layout ruined by course condition

I have played this course before and enjoyed it but this was by far the worst condition I have ever experienced on a WDW golf course. Wait until the course condition improves before playing. WDW also offering 15% off of green fees as they accept course is in poor condition.

Good Track!

The Palm is a solid, straightforward track with no tricks or gimmicks. It’s in good shape from tee to green and offers an enjoyable and fair challenge of one’s golf skills so long as you play the correct set of tees commensurate with your ability. The greens are smooth, healthy and devoid of severe undulations. For me, the greens were a bit slower than I prefer but they rolled true. My one criticism is that some of the cups looked like they had been cut with a dull butter knife as they were ragged, grassy and indented around the edges. I might also add that the pace of play was good. So, if you are visiting Disney and are looking for a golfing diversion to the parks, you’re not going to find a better place to scratch your golfing itch!
