Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
About
The 18-hole Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL is a resort golf course that opened in 1971. Designed by Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore, Magnolia Course at Walt Disney World Golf Resort measures 7516 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 141 and a 76.0 USGA rating. The course features 5 sets of tees for different skill levels. Greens and fairways are bermuda grass.
Of all the Disney courses, the Magnolia supports a greater abundance of wildlife. At any given time, you're likely to see deer, osprey, alligators and turtles. A flock of wild turkeys has brought several tournaments to a standstill while they pecked along its fairways. The course features elevated tees and greens with wide and generous fairways graced by over 1,500 magnolia trees that bloom from late spring to mid-summer. Brightly colored crape myrtles and oleanders, along with beds of blue plumbego and seasonal flowers, add sparkle to an otherwise dense, natural forest.

Unfortunately, the climate of recent has not been conducive to healthy turf growth, but we expect that as the weather warms up again, that the vibrancy of the turf will again return.-Management Photo submitted by Ah1122 on 03/24/2021

Beautiful Disney course
Loved to play at Magnolia, beautiful par 3 with Micky’s sand trap! Beautiful, and all very friendly! Thanks you all!
The Grumpy Gauntlet was just that.
Played Magnolia on a reasonably perfect day for golf. Course was in good shape but a bit different than the 1st time I played it. Greens are fairly large and a bit of a challenge to read. They have changed/added a few holes on the back 9 so I had to rely on a rangefinder and not the gps for holes 15-17. Beware of the gators - we did see a couple lurking about!
A Magical Golf Round
Going into this round, I knew the conditions were going to be at least solid and the nods to Disney around the course would be fun. My expectations were blown away. The course conditions were absolutely perfect, the pace of play was perfect (just under 4 hours 8 AM tee time). The course was peaceful and quiet, so much so that we could hear the sounds of the railroad at Magic Kingdom and the ferry boats going back and forth across the lagoon. It was such a cool backdrop for a golf round! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The addition of Grumpy's Gauntlet gets you, and was the reason that I didn't break 80...but I was having such a good time that I didn't even care. One of the best rounds of vacation golf I have ever had. Price-wise, it was comparable with any other nice resort course, but the setting and the nods to Disney as you golf made the high price SO worth it. I can't wait to go back.
Love this course
If it weren’t for the price I’d play here every day.
Well Worth It
Been a couple of years since we played here, They've done some significant work and the place is in great shape The greens are excellent .
Bravo! Tip: if you are staying at a Disney Resort they are supposed to have a shuttle service, but they have no dedicated shuttle. And it causes significant delay. They will get you a Mears Taxi, which is hit or miss. Plan ahead! Staff at the golf course is great.
First time playing this beautiful course. Paired up with great group, will definitely play again.
Magnolia
Loved everything about the course. It’s scenic, difficult but very enjoyable and I’d recommend to all
Best so far this trip!!
Best kept, greenest, conditions were terrific. Value for the $$$ in comparison too!!
Always a great track
Every time I come to Orlando, I play this course. It’s a great track and has great value for your money. Pace was a bit slow this time around, but overall another great experience. Staff were very friendly and the course was in great shape. Greens were quick, fairways were great. Would recommend any of the Disney courses if you’re in the area.
Meh
Temps and wind aside… they assigned a fifth player to our foursome which was just odd and then our golf cart died by the 9th hole. This is Disney. Expected better.
Magical, Amzing, Great
When you first get there the staff greats you with great warmth and offers support in every part of the check in process till the last hole. The gift shop needs some better product but if you’re looking for fun dis ey golf memorabilia then you will find plenty there. Make sure to call the pro shop for rates as the app might over charge you.
The fairways and greens played true and were in professional shape. The course is clearly managed well from top to bottom.
All Great, but pace of play !
New layout is very nice, fast green that rolled true. Course is in excellent shape.
Need to improve pace we played close to 5 hours.
Great break from work
While in Orlando for work I was able to get a mid day tee time and club rental. Taylor Made clubs very similar to my own. Course was cart path only because of recent rain but not a problem. Tees, fairways, and traps were in excellent condition and slightly better condition than the greens, but that is just being picky. Pretty open fairways on most holes. Played the gold tees which I would recommend for those like me with a handicap north of 20.
Old and worn.
Have played here numerous times over recent decades when on vacation. Usually I’m excited about it however this year I finally noticed how boring and worn MAGNOLIA really is. If you play the PALM course first its even more noticeable since the Palm is lush and most fairways more tree lined! The new holes on Magnolia near the end of the back 9 were nice and had a totally different look & feel, however asside from those The balance of the course is.. well, boring! The courses at WDW are managed by A.Palmer Golf Co. These are some very busy courses year round yet the staff here all seemed to be operating on different pages! I would get different answers from different staff when I ask about things like d. ranges, and practice areas. The first day/visit the females behind the counter weren’t overly nice. I long for the bygone days whwn Disney operated the courses and all the staff were extremely warm and friendly.
