An excellent course
This is a great golf course. First time I've played here, but I'll be back. It was in excellent condition. Grass growing everywhere. No bare spots. Greens in excellent condition also. Also it's not surrounded by houses or condos. It just sits out there among the trees and lakes. It's a natural looking setting.
Was an excellent experience.
Very few players due to final round of Master's was being televised,so pace of play was 3 hours. Excellent course in excellent condition.
Great Value for the condition
Awesome course.
Worth to live the experience less expensive than King and Bear but still provide a serious level of difficulties.
For real experience golfers this course should provide detail Holes distance and maps for bunkers sand and hazards
....which they are not providing compare to lower ranked golf course
Meanwhile, great experience
We booked also last minutes for a second round and was half priced
Poor condition
The course can be nice but WAY overpriced. Not nearly worth the money it charges. Not even for half of the full price. A twosome was squeezed in between us at the turn and the pace of play slowed down dramatically. The course was also in poor shape for the money they charged. I would recommend if the price was cheaper and in much better shape.
AWESOME !!!
The title says it all. Yes it is expensive but worth treating yourself once and awhile.
BEST COURSE in Jacksonville FLORIDA
Best Course you can play in Florida.. Great Design with great conditions of the course and True rolling greens.... JUST ALL AROUND GREAT COURSE TO PLAY>>>
Superb
This is a fantastically laid out course. Plenty of water and well-placed obstacles. Trees and landscape has excellent maturity for the course's age. Extremely friendly staff; very helpful and courteous.
Greens were in excellent condition, beautiful course
The course was between average and challenging, the holes were challenging but you could recover easily.
Very nice course but tough.
Great course very challenging, lots of water. Approach shots are extremely important.
Overall - just a great track to play
We played through Golf Now ... they had a "deal" for around $100 vs the $169 through the course. Yes, it is a good course BUT a lot better considering it's about a $100 course. The greens were in good shape after a tough winter, fairways good for that time of year and location. YES, I'd play it again ... and enjoyed the experience ...
Nice wide fairways and challenging greens
My husband and I played our round in about 3 and 1/2 hours. So pace of play was great. Sand traps were deep and a little difficult. It is a good course for a higher handicap player. It would be nice if the price was reasonable. Even though I liked the course I would not play it again due to the price.
1st class golf, conditions, staff. Excellent value if you get a discount
We arrived at the course and were driven to the practice area by the a staff member. Very cordial along with pro shop staff.
Excellent practice facilities, cordial starter who had no issue with letting us start 30 minutes later to take advantage of the 1st class practice facilities.
Course was in great shape, great layout, challenging but fair..
Excellent greens, true putting surface. Nice friendly layout
Very nice course. I would play it again. Apples are a nice touch!
This is course was an enjoyable experience.
Friendly and helpful staff. Cold apples were a treat. The course provided enough challenge without being severe, making for an entertaining and enjoyable experience.
A little dried out but interesting layout. Fun to play.
Pretty forgiving course. Greens were in excellent condition.
A great experience
The course is in very nice shape. A little pricey but the WGV is a great place to visit. I'll play the King & Bear next time.
Superb conditioning. Very few memorable holes.
Played as a twosome in windy conditions after a very heavy storm. The course was water logged, so cart path only rule was in effect. I was impressed that the greens drain well & were still firm, fast, and defect free. We also had a foursome ahead of us that took 10 minutes to putt each green, then raced to tee off so they didn't have to let us play through. Perhaps the less than ideal playing condition soured my impression of the course. But the layout seemed pretty dull to me. I think there are much nicer courses nearby for close the same price (Ponte Vedra, Palm Coast, etc.)
HORRIBLE SERVICE !
I have never been treated so poorly at a golf course as I was here. The course is in great shape but the service was the worst I have ever encountered. First they let a large group of three foursomes go off before our twosome. Then the cart girl was very rude. After four holes they closed the course due to storms, which is not a problem, that happens. The problem was that because it was raining, the attending staff refused to do their jobs and made the customers do their jobs for them. Then the clubhouse refused to give rainchecks to anyone who booked through GolfNow. Service all-around at the course was pathetic, and that's being nice.
PS: Upon calling GolfNow they were very helpful and gave me a refund, no questions asked. GolfNow gets my 5-star vote for their service, but I will not be going back to this course again. It's a shame too, because it's a really nice course, but to be treated the way we were from beginning to end just because we didn't book at the course is totally uncalled for.
user friendly and visually attractive
I enjoyed playing the white tees, 5700 yards, although a bit long for me as a female. The course is fair and very well maintained. Would love to play it 2 or 3 times a week.
Nice layout
Start time @ 3:30 twilight discount, free balls @ driving range but nobody came to tell us when it is our time to start, web site mentionned GPS on every cart, there were no GPS on any cart we would have appreciate at least a yardage book to help us for a first time on the course.
King & Bear is a very nice course but for the money spent we would have expected a bit more.
