Fantastic Facility
Our group enjoyed the the entire facility and the professionals were the best.
A Fun Time at the World Golf Hall of Fame
The Slammer and the Squire was a fun golf course to play. The layout was interesting and the greens were fair and they rolled true. We played this course during the worst weather on our trip (45 to 50 degrees with wind and rain showers) and we still had fun out there. I wouldn't pay $100 to play here but a weekday rate found on golf now in the $65 range was well worth the price. If it is good enough for Gary Player, it is good enough for me!
What a Gem!
This golf course was in tremendous condition-best greens in Jacksonville area....I highly recommend that you play this course No rating on food as we did not eat at course
I battled the bear!
I love this course. I paid only 8$ with my 75$ voucher how sweet is that? course is well maintained and in excellent shape. challenging for any level golfer because it has multiple tee boxes.
Pricy but worth it.
The course is designed by Arnold and jack so it is very amazing to play. Mostly challenging with some water but the layout does include some easier holes.
King & bear
Great course. fairways needed cut and bunkers needed work. A little pricey but worth the afternoon deal on "golf now" $89 after 1:00. Would not advise paying full price.
Great Condition!
I've played King-Bear many years ago and jumped at the golfnow rate. Fairways were great and greens were FAST and true. Reminds you of his good the WGV courses are....wish they were regularly cheaper.
Outstanding Course
Always a great experience. Challenging but fair. Immaculate condition. Greens fast but true. Designed to make you think, enjoyable for handicaps of all ranges. They've finally upgraded the menu variety and quality appropriate to a facility of this stature. Taking 3 friends to play in February, everyone's looking forward to a great experience.
Nice Course
I thought it would be more than it was...very nice staff!
Golf review
Nice course, not worth the fee unless you get a special.
Beautifully immaculate Resort course in high end subdivision setting.
11:24 tee time w/ buddy. $109/ea - $200 Golf now reward. Similar to Club @ Eaglebrooke, Julliette Falls GC, & Bella Collina CC. Fun & fair layout. Visually appealing course. Huge well stocked proshop. Great driving range & short game practice area. Tee boxes & fairways plush as carpet. Bunkers well sanded. Huge elevated greens rolling true & fast. Front nine wider open (Links) than back nine (tree lined}. Battery powered carts w/ windshield & rain cover in back. Great value w/ Golfnow reward.
Course was great, staff not so much
I have played here before and the staff was more efficient There was no one to drive to the club house and in the pro shop , I was told maybe the intercom needs batteries by an overweight looking lazy young man. Next I was told outside they were busy with an outing and had no time to help any one else. Great attitudes!! I teed off at 1;10 and was told by the starter that we we would most likely not finish. I t did not get dark until 5:45. What did he think I might leave! So 4 1/2 hours is not enough time. We finished at 5;30. There was no one to clean the clubs or transport us back to the parking lot. I am not spoiled it is more than a reasonable distance to carry a large bag hence that is why they have shuttles. Very disappointed with the treatment. As far as the course it was in very good condition and I thoroughly enjoyed playing there. So ignore the staff and enjoy the course!!
This course is very wide open and very fair to play.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. Fairways are wide and playing the white tees a good challenge for the senior golfer. Greens rolled very true and were fast. Not much water on the course. Only negative is that the course is pricey but it is a resort golf course!!!
RP Review
Still too pricey at $60.00
Drop it down to $45.00 and the course would be packed.
We pretty much had our own private course on a Saturday morning.
That's crazy
What an experience!!
The King and the Bear lives up to the legends the course is named for. The staff made me fell like I was a celebrity. Range balls are included with your round on the well manicured range. The course was pristine and a definite challenge. The greens putt true and are lightning fast. The greens definitely added some strokes to my round as they are much faster than I am used to. I will definitely return.
A nice track in very good condition
Played this course a few times now and always find it to be in very good condition. Pace of play is usually good. Rangers do a good job of checking on pace of play. A good track you can count on.
Nice
We arrived early with plans to visit the hall of fame prior to round but it was not open until 10:00. The course received us well and we were set up at the range in a matter of minutes.
The course was in good shape and we really enjoyed the round.
A Must-Play Course!
I beautiful course that is very well maintained. Wonderful staff, nice pro shop. Played Slammer & Squire the day before but enjoyed King & Bear more... will definitely be back!
The course is nicklaus standard bunkers
Not up to expectations for a resort course. Thought we were getting a great deal at $70.00 early afternoon price, but have played better at half the cost. Staff and all were very friendly. Tees and fairways good but bunkers were not in best of shape. Greens slower than expected. Would recommend for a one time experience, but doubt I will play again
Slammer and Squire
Excellent course. I took advantage of "Hot Deals" cost of $45 after tax.
My only gripe is that it was cart path only and this was neither announced on Golf Now nor at the Pro Shop before the round began. The course had recently planted its winter rye grass.
I'm also not a fan of every 20-something staffer calling me buddy.
