Average course, decent maintenance
Enjoyed playing given the nice weather. Greens ran true and fairways were in decent shape. Starter was friendly. Did we see a Marshall helping with pace, no. 5 hr round at 8:15am. Only saw beverage girl once and it’s difficult to get refreshments at turn given clubhouse is 10 min drive from 9th and 10th hole on Stonemont. There are better places to play for $100 but it’s a fun course close to the city.
Worst Value in Atlanta. Over $100 for awful/bumpy greens, dirt fairways, and sloping tee boxes.
Worst value for your money in the greater Atlanta area. Over $100 to go play a cow pasture. Greens in HORRIBLE condition... several of which had LITERAL bunkers on them... like 3x2ft holes filled with sand. Tee boxes and fairways in terrible condition... dirt lies all over the place. To charge over $100 (+$20 just to get your car on property) is highway robbery. 0/10 will never be back.
Great Staff!
The staff was awesome from bag drop off to the check in process to the starter! Everyone was great! The course was a little sloshy. Due to the rain. Pace of play was really fast and we were able to tee off early! Thank you Stone Mountain!
Surprise Stone Mountain
A lot of the green fees are very high while the greens are not in so great of conditions. I must admit Stone Mountain's greens are in perfect condition. The course layout is great; pace of play was excellent and good value for the money. I was very impressed with my visit to Stone Mountain, course is in great condition, and I will definitely return for another round with friends.
Overpriced. Local municipal courses are in better shape. Has been this way for two years now.
Not with the $100 round. Gate is $20 entry fee then you pay $89 for the round. I would put this on the “$40 all in value” list of courses. Greens were slow, unkept and unplayable at times. Fairways were rough, lots of missing grass. Some tee boxes were nonexistant. I’d play it again if it was priced the same way the local municipal courses are, but until something changes (price or conditions) I won’t be back.
Course is nice but greens are incredibly slow
Like running 5s or less. Some greens missing large chunks of grass
It used to be in better shape
Needs some work
The course layout is very challenging. There are some very tight fairways and greens. The course was in bad shape with many of the fairways and some greens unplayable. The fairways were covered in washed out grass, mud, and some of the greens had big dead sandy patches. It was very disappointing for the money we paid.
Downhill Quivk
This place used to be soo beautiful and nice but over the last few years has slowly declined. You walk in the proshop and it smells like methane gase. Played Friday 4/18 and was appalled. Just absolutely disgusting. Fairways and tee boxes in rough rough shape. The greens are full of weeds and dead grass. A couple have soo much dead grass right in the middle that you would think it was a sand trap. What happened to this place? Its just atrocious. Make the drive to a better club because this one has just been neglected.
Low Value
The course is playable, however it provides poor value if you consider price, parking and poor conditions. Amenities are in good shape and staff is friendly. There are much better courses at that price point.
Nice layout
Course had a nice layout but needed work on the grasses on fairways and greens. At the cost expected a higher quality of course.
Needs serious maintenance and reinvestment
Not very playable. Fairways had no grass and trenches and hard pan was everywhere due to water run off. Greens were in horrible condition with damage to many. Great views of Stone Mountain and the course layout seems like it was once nice with the right investment. Needs some attention particularly with the rates being charged for peak times.
Stunning Views. Fair conditions on the fairway.
We played the front nine of Lakemont. The views are amazing with outstanding lake and Stone Mountain views. The Pro shop staff, valets and starter are friendly and professional. The fairway conditions are the poorest I have seen of the last five local courses I have played this year. Another significant complaint was the men’s locker/ restroom. Housekeeping was poor! The course restrooms were intolerable. Nowhere close to what you would expect with what the green fees were.
Beautiful views, not so nice course conditions
lots of bare spaces on the fairways and around the greens. disappointing.
A truly rip-off
The green fees is overrated. The course was in such a bad condition that event my local worst course could have been better to play. There were sanded areas on greens on 12 or 18 greens. Bumpy. the fairways were in terrible condition and the t-boxes were just moon surface.
Maintenance was so terrible that i would never play here.
