Sandbagged

Terrible conditions. Fairways were spotty and chopped. Greens were ok, but was dissatisfied and disappointed with the experience. Will not go back.

Unreal

The Stone Mountain courses have for many years been wonderful layouts. I DO NOT know what has happened there but they are in miserable condition. The fairways, greens and tee boxes are gone. It is a shame that whomever is running this place now has killed it! This place is not worth a $25 greens fee let alone the disgraceful rates they charges our group.

Missed opportunity

This course could be incredible but the condition of the course is not good. The layout is fun and views are gorgeous. Staff is friendly, but there’s clearly a lack of resources invested in the maintenance of the course. Price is pretty high considering the state of the course. Could be a gem if they’d put in the money needed to make it playable.

Will play again

Overall, this is a nice course to play in the North Dekalb/South Gwinnett area. Of course it sucks to pay the $20 for parking, but consider paying the $40 at the beginning of the year.

Course was in great shape. A few wet spots but it didn’t hinder our round. All except one green was in great shape, and the fairways were in great shape as well. Pace of play was good for a Saturday. Finished the round in 4hrs.

Will def be back here next year!

Fantastic views, amenities lacking

The course is fantastic as the views are mesmerizing. The amenities feel like a public or city owned course, not 5star. Other than that, the grass is fast, clean and well taken care of. Greens are clean and neat. Fairways long and challenging. Best of all, no houses to hit!

The course really has gotten in bad shape

Used to be a very good course, resort style. Unfortunately, it has really fallen off. A lot of the greens have fungus and are clearly dying or dead. The fairways have massive dirt patches. You can also tell that they are over watering a lot of areas which are somehow in an inch deep of water or mud despite us getting no rain in 30 days.

Great course

Played Lakemont with dad, uncle, and bro. Had a great time. Very few golfers being a Tuesday and the hot deal really got the price down. With a lake and mountain it’s one of the prettiest courses for the money.

How are the greens? I am planning a trip to ATL and saw this course but I am seeing mixed reviews.

Great course but..

The Stone Mountain course on the mountain side is a great layout. Could be manicured a little better but still good. Only gripe I have is the $20 state park fee you have to pay in addition to green fees to park your car. That should be made a lot clearer on the golf course website. Not right to gouge golfers not using the park to play golf

Course maintenence needed.

The standards of course conditions have dropped. Greens have several bare spots.
