We Played Lake View Course today!

I would give a lower rating with the Two Exceptions of Charlie and the new Superintendent being brought onboard very recently from Cape Coral Florida. I use to play the course they came from and it was an Awesome Track, so I definitely believe in them both to make the needed changes to this course. Everything on and around the course looks run down and not kept up. there was trash in may areas that we picked up out of courtesy, but should be attended to by the staff routinely. all of the grass needed cutting, many of tee boxes were overgrown, and we did take into consideration the aeration, which was probably done too late into the end of summer. Crab grass plugs on many of the greens and the edges of the greens were horrible and not manicured.

It was very disappointing to see a fabulous course going by the way side for the money that is currently being charged. The Champions Grille was a Major Highlight for this Golf Outing. Food is and was spectacular and the services was also GREAT!!!! Thank you all.

With what Callaway gardens is you would expect this to be an elaborate course, but it wasn’t. It was an OK layout with a fair assortment of challenges, guarded greens, plenty of length, etc. Butt there were some glaring issues that take alway for me. The course sorta felt unkempt. No real separation between fairway and short rough with not being able to tell fairway from rough from the tee. The tee boxes were so long! I was hitting grass on every driver. The greens were all over the place, but all not ideal. Either the grass was long and slow and hard to read or the greens were just completely trashed with hard packed, cracked dirt and hardly any grass. I just expect greatness for a course on a resort like this, but this course was no different than my local muni.

I was so excited to play here knowing they used to play pga events here a couple decades ago. Arriving to the first tee everything looked great, but hole 2 and onward the fairways were longer than rough at most courses. The greens were terrible. Some needed cut and were like putting in fairway, most were dead or dying, cracked, over sanded. Just a mess honestly. I've played courses for 15 dollars that were much better.

This course was fantastic once upon a time. It’s a wonderful and fun layout. Now there is wormholes all over the greens and they don’t cut them. The greens are the same as a fringe on a well manicured course. The tee boxes are unleveled and the grass is as long as the rough. They have completely given up on the bunkers and have just left them in disrepair. There is random tall weeds in the fairway as well. Down the street in Columbus you can play better maintained courses for half the price. Shouldn’t be that way and I hope they put some effort into the course.

Nice little course requiring good shot placement on several dog legs to give good approach angle. No driver needed to play this course except on the 2 par fives.

I'm wondering what is happening at Callaway Gardens? The last two trips that we have made have been increasingly disappointing.

The course conditions have dropped considerably in the last three or four months!

The lakes are all down very low and not at all appealing for a course named the "Lakes"

Today there were no range balls available to warm up! Someone is not doing their job(s) properly. Last time I provided a review I indicated that the experience felt different and this time it definitely was different. This will be our last trip to Pine Mountain until we see that the positive reviews have returned. Its unfortunate because it was always fun to experience the differences in the two courses. It's just not worth the drive at this time.

This course used to be spoken about with reverence. Callaway gardens was synonymous with pristine golf. No longer. The course could be good with just some regular maintenance. Everywhere the grass was too long. Greens, fairways, tee boxes. Grass was growing into the bunkers. It screamed of neglect and disinterest. Hoping this place can make a turnaround.

Lots of hay left behind after mowing. Lots of tee boxes are in bad shape. This course use to be in tremendous shape.

You would think it can’t get any worse, it continues to go down hill.. sad to see.. it’s a $20-25 course now at best and they have continued to raise the greens fees to where now a “hot” deal on here is $55 plus fees and such.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.. greens , tee boxes and fairways are pitiful.. honestly I don’t even think they employ an actual greenskeeper at this point as I think about anyone could do better than what this course has turned into..

Played during a healing period so the course was gorgeous but greens a little slow. Lake View is a great design and fun course to play. Recommend for any golfer.

This golf course should be called Callaway cow pasture, because I would never see any type of garden flourishing here at all. The ignoring of maintenance at this course is insane, coming from someone who has had 2 years in golf maintenance, it shows clearly that it is not properly maintained not even a little bit. The tee boxes were like hitting out of the rough, they definitely need to be trimmed, the fairways are not trimmed up at all. I am all about long rough, but when you get to just outside of the green it was ridiculous. I had multiple shots that were just to the right or left of the green and I could not find my ball. The greens were bumpy and you could not hit a putt true to the line, because it would just bounce like a basketball. They are ridiculously slow and not trimmed.For a course that was used for a pga event roughly 20 years ago, it should not be in bad of a shape as it is. Considering the four of us payed 200 in total with a promo code, we were all very disappointed. Will never play this course again.

Man this course used to actually be a PGA tour stop, now there are so many municipal courses that are in far better shape! Greens are half dead , will not roll true , full of poanna and ball just bumps left right up and down as you putt. Bunkers are hard packed sand some even have baby pine trees growing all in them. Fairways are like hitting off a cart path , better make sure to try to pick it clean ! Tee it up higher on boxes with a 3.5 inch tee and ball was still in grass where they had not been mowed in days. Only good thing I can say was the turn had a nice meal in the champions grill. Honestly this is a $25-30 per round course , yes it’s that bad not exaggerating, Bull Creek in Columbus is head and shoulders above this course in condition. It has gradually went down hill for years now and honestly don’t think I will be back after todays round here. If I ever do I will be sure to snap pics of the course to show.
