About Callaway Resort & Gardens
Callaway Resort & Gardens is a 2,500-acre retreat in Pine Mountain, Georgia, about an hour's drive from Atlanta. The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Work in progress
We get out to Callaway about once a year, so we are very familiar with these courses. Very disappointed in the overall conditions. The course staff was excellent and knew there were some areas that needed a lot of work. They let us know they are under new ownership and we’re excited to see what’s coming. Looking forward to seeing Callaway return to its glory days!!
This course has a refreashing view.
It was my first experiance at lake course in galaway garden.
As I heard from friend, its view is real healing.
I refreahed my mind and played golf with comfort condition.
If my friends ask me recommendation of golf course, I will recommend lake view course in galaway garden.
So bad
You would think that if the course had been neglected this bad, they would at least come off their price a little bit. Seriously the worst greens I’ve ever saw. They are definitely going to lose some customers.
Unkept and overpriced
Even with a hot deal, the price to play on crabgrass filled fairways and dead greens is just not ideal. Every green complex apart from 1 had large dead spots and would cause putts to roll horribly most chances. The lake course was amazing last time I went, but this was a MASSIVE letdown.
Greens and Tee boxes need serious work
For the price to play. The greens were horrible. Patchy with dirt. Not very “green”. Hard as a rock with no consistency. Most tee boxes were in rough shape or needed to be mowed. Fairways were nice though
Overgrown
Course has been invaded by some type grass that makes the greens bumpy. If you kill the invasive grass on all the course the place would be all brown.
Love to play at Callaways
We always have a great time playing at Callaways. I do worry that the poa annua is taking over many of the greens. Hope they can be helped as everything else about the course is great!!!!
Worst Greens This Year
I have been wanting to play this course all my life, a PGA stop 20 years ago. I Could not believe they completely lost the greens, most greens covered with Poiana, or so thin, like putting on dirt.
Every green had bunkers that were over 6 feet deep, and obviously have not been raked in days.
Not good
Greens were terrible ! I get it with the change from winter to spring ! But it’s just a 25.00 course right now
Poor condition!
Course has never been in this condition. Greens we’re basically unplayable. Over priced for the shape of the course. Hard to believe there was a PGA event there at one time. Great layout……..SAD!
Poa Annua Galore
Love playing the Mtn View course. The greens have too much poa annua weeds for a resort course, however. Thank goodness for Hot Deal rates.
Excellent Value at Callaway Gardens!
Nice course by the water with views of nature and some wild life.
