The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Great hole! Photo submitted by dongolf0123 on 04/21/2014
A good course that is worth the drive from Atlanta
I played this course because it is on the Golf Advisor's Best of GA list. It is a moderate challenge with great views of the gardens and lake. A few holes run along the lake and one goes over it!! The fairways are pretty wide but some holes were dog legged and you need to be in the proper place off the tee to score well. I played in March and the Bermuda grass had not greened up yet but the greens were in great shape. It is a fun course to play without too many bunkers. The grill was closed due to COVID but there is a snack shop after the 10th hole. If you stay in the gardens then there will be some good off course food options as I had two weeks prior. The course is only a 1 1/2 hour drive from Atlanta and worth the trip.
Needs Course Marshals
The Good - due to wet weather prior to the round they closed the lakeview course and let me play the round on the mountain view course at the same price.. Staff at the desk, starter, cart attendant, etc., were all very friendly and courteous.
The not so good - the course was still rebounding from winter, so it was not in pristine condition (i.e., not quite what I'd call up to 'resort course" standards. Since this was in Callaway Gardens - known for the spring floral displays - I'd have expected more flowering bushes on the course, as well.
The Bad - at least one group ahead of us "merged" to form a group of 6 or more. as a result our group of 3 was waiting on every tee and in the fairway on our second shots, as well. They needed a course marshal to break that group back up or force them to play faster.
Needs TLC
This is a great course that has seen better days. Good interesting layout. But conditions were more muni level. There had been a lot of rain that impacted fairways and bunkers, but that aside, the tee boxes and greens and signage were also spotty from lack of care. Hope Callaway will put some $ and care into maintenance this summer when the rain subsides.
Fun interesting course, course was in pretty good condition considering the winter weather it endured
Just a slow group in front of us all day. We found the course interesting and would play again
Impressive
Wow this is a nice track from top to bottom. Very fair and interesting layout with rolling hills and a few water holes.
Worth the drive and every penny for range balls, green fees, and food. It is refreshing to see that someone still knows how to run a golf course.
I will be back to play the lake course real soon.
great course
as always staff members are great to work with ,course was in great shape . this is one of my favorite courses to play
Overview
Golf course was good but just ground was too much wet. so I do not recommend after raining or wet weather.
Lake course
Don’t play this course if has rained. It holds water terribly bad. Make sure it hasn’t rained for at least 3 days. The course is beautiful but its a soggy mess if it’s rained.
Lakeview Golf course Callaway Garden
