About Callaway Resort & Gardens
Callaway Resort & Gardens is a 2,500-acre retreat in Pine Mountain, Georgia, about an hour's drive from Atlanta. The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Great hole! Photo submitted by dongolf0123 on 04/21/2014
Beautiful course.
We played the Lake side of Callaway and really enjoyed it. Course was in great condition throughout.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
If you are looking to play on a reputable, great condition, former PGA course, then go somewhere else! Greens were bad, the fairway grass was anywhere from 1/8 th to 1/2 inches before you hit extremely packed and hard Georgia clay. It is better to play from the rough than from the fairway. Lake view is good for a $30 price tag and Mountain view(their signature course) is a complete bust especially at $40-$50 per round. If you swing and make a nice shallow divot, do not think you'll do the same on this course. It is like hitting off of asphalt and in a lot of fairways your club will bounce off of the ground in the fairway. The greens are in poor shape with most of them looking like a persons face with bad acne, and putting lines were obsolete. We will not return to Calloway Mountain View and opt for a local course in Columbus or go over to Opelika to play the Robert Trent Jone Course. They should have returned our money and felt ashamed that Calloway Gardens has such poor golf courses.
Loved the course. First time playing and will return!
Great day!
My golf buddy and I took our wives out for the first weekend out after being trapped for a few weeks. We had a great time! The weather was perfect, the course was in great shape. We had a great day all around. I noted to my friend that even the course seemed to benefit from a break because I don’t think I saw five divots on the entire 18 (tee boxes excluded). I will admit the course could use a couple more passes with the mower in the rough, but the fairways and greens were in great shape.
Golfers gotta go
For the cost of this course, why are the bathrooms on the course so nasty? They are dirty, doors are broken, unbelievably bad!!
Good course
Course was under maintenance and had to play lakeview at Callaway. Excellent greensfor this time of year. One cart per person unless family and you wish one cart. Fairways alittle rough but expected for april.
Not what it used to be
This course a few years ago was magnificent. The greens were already small but now a few holes are stupid small. Greens are in pretty good condition but they need to correct them soon. Fairways are ok for winter. Some of the upper tee boxes were just a mowed patch in the fairway- others tees were good. I was expecting the course to be so much better, but I was really disappointed. I’ll play the Lake course next time for sure
Callaway Lake Course was beautiful with azaleas and dogwoods in bloom. The course is always fun to play. The employees are professional and friendly.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course with beautiful surroundings. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Will definitely recommend course to my friends!

Lake view in the rain
Course had good tees and nice greens. Fairways were still a little wet from a lot of rain. Used a hot deal and played for $27 . Unfortunately iit
Rained pretty hard after nine holes and we had to call it quits. No refund for 9 holes when getting a hot deal.
