Mountain View
Iv played the course in the past and it was great but this go around course was in awful shape greens weren’t the best and the whole course was really just caked in mud from where they did an areation wasn’t a lot of grass to hit off in most of the course think they chose a late time to do an areation
Fun design, turf will get better
This is a very fun design, I'm sure really difficult from the tips (as it was a Buick Open site). Greens hold well, feel smooth and not too fast (given that some have significant slopes on a mountain course) but are just a bit bumpy and the putt gets thrown off as it slows down. Fairways still kind of brown at this point but reasonable roll (it had just rained last night) and even in the brown portions the ball sits up well. A very good value for the price, pretty, fast pace of play and some real decisions as to how aggressive you want to be on the approach shot.
Course conditions
Had played this course yrs ago and it was immaculate. Course now in terrible shape. Fairways in terrible condition, very little grass. Greens fair. Appearance around clubhouse and course really bad. Was just shocked. They did have a bad storm few weeks ago but most of this had nothing to do with that. Course has just been let go. Not kept up well at all
Beautiful Day
Great golf course. Fairways were dryer than usual. Greens were lightening fast, too. Pace of play was ok considering how busy the course was at 11:00 am. Always a treat to play at The Gardens.
What a great secret!
Absolutely the best bargain anywhere on Golfnow! I played the PGA site of the Buick Open for $20.00! Very friendly staff! If anyone knows of a better bargain, please say because I would love to play there! Thanks guys!!
Nice layout. Beautiful place.
Course holds water very badly. Fairways were soaked. Make sure it’s been dry for several days before playing.
No water coolers, no drink cart service.
This was my third year playing the Lake View. A fun course that presents less of a challenge than the Mountain View, but still has some fun and challenging holes. The are had received a ton of rain before we arrived, so the course was cart path only. The fairways and tee boxes were wet, but not so much that it affected play. Greens were firm and rolled true. My one big complain is that there were ZERO water coolers on the course, and we never saw a drink cart. $60+ dollars was a little steep to not offer any water at all on the course.
Coarse is in great shape
The only negative is second cut is to long. Easy to lose balls
Great experience
August 25, 2018 a business partner and myself booked a round and were very impressed with the facility and the conditions of the course. Mountain View is the PGA level course and it was in very good condition in spite of the heat in the summer. Due to the dry conditions and time of day the greens were fast, but my wedge shots were able to stick and my problem was hitting puts past the hole. Regardless, the day was great and golf now made it better because of the Hot Deal price.
Average at best
I just wasn’t very impressed with this course. Granted, they had a lot of rain recently and it was cart path only, but I just didn’t feel like the course was in great shape. Greens were really slow. And the layout was nothing special. It probably didn’t help my experience that we were out there as a twosome and got placed behind a fivesome (that made us wait until the 7th hole to play through) then another foursome with two young children that didn’t let us play through, so we ended up skipping a hole and going around. Pretty sure those were the only 3 groups on the course, too.
Overall, it was just OK. I probably won’t be back. It’s probably not usually as bad as it was for me today, though.
Good round of golf
The golf course is in great shape and fun to play.
The course is not to hard but has some challenging holes. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Greens were not as good as they have been in the past
Nice Greens
The course was in the best shape it’s been all year. I play at Callaway every Friday so I saw a big difference in a week with us finally getting some rain. The greens were immaculant and were holding shots. My only complaint has been the water around the course for the past month has not had any ice and so it’s like drinking from the tap. I will probably be there this coming week to play again. I think you will enjoy your experience of playing Lakeview.
Callaway Lake
This is an amazing course after playing in Atlanta area for so long. There was grass in the fairways which were not impacted clay and the greens were awesome. This is a very nice and fair course. Most of the holes are fairly short and accessible in regulation if you play out of the fairways. If you;'re not in the fairway, you will get punished as there is plenty of forest and under brush. You must be precise off the tee and the scenery is outstanding. I could not have found a better value for this type course and will definitely play again. Worth the drive from Atlanta.
Worst greens I have ever played
Flew into Atlanta on business/fun trip. Had a buddy who had played it along time ago so we drove from Atlanta to the course. Putting green was in horrible shape but I had hoped it was nothing like what we would see on the course. I don’t know if the greens had a disease but it was like putting on ugly concrete. It was a shame because the course is very pretty. It was almost impossible to hit the green with an iron and for the ball to stay on the green. Paid $70 for the round and felt cheated. Would come back and play again if I knew their greens improved.
Awesome Course.
Great course that's always a pleasure to play. Very crowded on Saturdays from mid-morning to early afternoon so pace of play is very slow. Other than that, this is an awesome course.
