Chateau Elan Winery & Resort

I give the course decent stars only because of nostalgia for the course. For the money Chateau Elan Resort brings in, the course has got to be better. I used to play the Chateau Course a lot years ago and the price was fantastic; especially in the winter season. Although it’s winter time, there were some rough spots on the course. Fairways had some bare patches in spots, sand lacking in some bunkers, greens were a touch slow but in good shape. Overall, Chateau needs to bring the price down or make sure the course is in great shape year around. Pick one or the other. Not to mention their halfway house is NEVER open. Good layout and nice houses to look at though. Also, the range is awful right now too, have you hitting off bare spots.

Gold tee boxes were well kept, and the fairways were nice as well. More people needed to sand their divots, but I think that’s everywhere. I also found it frustrating how many tees had tree limbs directly in line with the fairway.

The range was nice, and they gave me a free token because of a frost delay.

The greens had many pitch marks, but the green side/fairway bunkers were raked and pristine.

This is definitely a $60 course, but not worth $90.

If you enjoy a challenge play the Woodlands course. You won’t be disappointed. If you enjoy mountain golf. You won’t be disappointed. If you enjoy high end Georgia architecture. You won’t be disappointed. If you enjoy casual dining with high end service at golf course. You won’t be disappointed. If having your clubs loaded and unloaded is important to your round go elsewhere. Carts are old and staff is minimal but very friendly. Supply chain delays has held up new carts with GPSs but received free yardage book and lady in pro shop helped load our cart. Member at putting green explained differences of their two 18 courses. We’ll be back to play the tournament Chateau course.

The course was in good shape considering the recent weather several courses in the area still had snow on them. That effected the pace of play which was to be expected plus they had a frost delay oh well still got to playgolf

Course is great. Great condition. Greens are fast and true. Layout is really difficult, sometimes unfair. Lots of water in play and there isn’t any pictures of the holes at tee boxes or on the scorecard. You should play with someone familiar with the course.

Despite the insane rain the few days prior, we really enjoyed getting out on the Chateau course. Nice layout, especially the back 9. Greens rolled really well despite the rain from several days. Definitely will go back.

It would be great if players would fix ball marks and divots. A little supervision would be nice.

With nobody in front of us, we played the round in a little over 3:40. Overall course conditions were very good considering the time of year. Greens were fast and true.

The course was in good condition for mid December. The greens rolled true and were in good shape. The course had a few tight holes, and called for strategic placed shots. I really like the course and would recommend it to others.
