Family Fun Day
Played with my kids for a family outing. Here are a few positives and negatives:
Positives:
1. Junior tees
2. Clean clubhouse
3. Ice readily available for coolers on carts
4. Greens were “friendly” for beginners
5. Had a good time with my family.
Negatives:
1. Water coolers on course were empty
2. The golf app that I use for yardage & scoring had the 1st tee as the 10th tee. If I remember correctly, The Creek flipped the front and back nines.
Greens a little rough
Seems like greens had bee aerated recently and were still very bumpy. Other than that course was fine.
The greens
The greens had been aerated but that's what has to be done. Overall the course was in great shape.
Greens yucky
It would have been nice to know greens were aerated and sanded as I came to practice putting!
aerated greens
Wish we had known the greens had just been aerated 4 days prior to playing the course. Also the course in general was not in the condition it needs to be. All other Georgia state courses I have played are in much better shape. Love the layout, but was disappointed in the course condition.
Great course at a excellent price point!
This a great course at a excellent price. If your out east of Atlanta well worth the drive. No doubt it’s not a push over course, and can challenge both the weekend golfer and the semipro.
The greens are in fantastic condition right now, yes this week they did sand the greens but expect them to be in above par condition in the next couple weeks.
Great shape
We have not had rain for about a month and I was very impressed with fairways and greens
Nice layout, some interesting holes.
Good course for the price. A little disappointed with front 9 greens, very bumpy. Back 9 greens were much better. Unusual that the green condition from the front to the back varied so much. Fairways were in good shape, some of the tee boxes below par. Overall, fun course for the price, will be back.
OK
The Fairways are Nice. The Greens are not up to par. The Holes dont sit level with the greens and are not well taken care of. But nice sceneries all around the course. Several opportunities to hit long balls and and play a nice iron game.
Been a long time, but worth the wait
Moved from the area due to work requirements, but got the chance to visit every once in awhile now with retirement. First time playing there in over 25 years and glad I got the chance to play it again. Course still in perfect condition with beautiful natural forest layout. I think all ages and sexes would have a great time enjoy playing here and relaxing while viewing the sceniering on and off the course. I use to say the deer were safe on the fairway because I would always miss them. If you are in the area and play golf or not, you need to make a stop at Hard Labor Creek State Park. Don't let the name scare you if you do play golf.
Pretty Golf Holes, Fun Layout but very poor Course Maintaince
This was my first time playing The Creek at Hard Labor course. I have played several other GA state park golf courses and I expected the course maintenance and conditions to be similarly excellent. Wrong.
The greens were terrible. There were tons of spots with bare dirt or sand on the greens. The greens had not been cut for a at least a couple days. There were earthworm dung mounds and bumps everywhere on the greens. The greens were some of the worst condiition I have played in quite some time, which is totally opposite of other GA state park courses I have played (Highlands Course at Lake arrowhead, Ocumulgee, Arrowhead Pointe, etc.).
The tee boxes were torn up with very little grass. However, the fairways and bumkers were in very good condition. I loved hitting from the fairways as they were lush with grass and very nice.
The best part about The Creek golf course is the beautiful setting and the beautiful scenery. The setting and scenery is fantastic! Creeks, waterfalls, water wheel, animals.... just an all around beautiful place. I hope as summer months continue the condition of the greens and tee boxes improves because the course has a great variety of golf holes and is a spectacular setting.
Hot Deal
I am by no means a golfer, but I enjoy the outdoors. Found this course on a hot deal and couldn't pass it up. The fairways were pretty hard so the ball carried well, not much forgiveness if you're prone to lifting divots. The tee boxes were normal for the price, a bit chewed up. The greens were, let's say, way under par. Sprigs of grass all over making the ball bounce with ever putt, and so much sand....... For the price though, I'd play it every day. The scenery was fantastic! Creeks, waterfalls, water wheel, animals.... just a beautiful place. I'm sure as the growing season goes on, the course will get better.
Round of 89
Great Day for Golf.
