About Lake Richard B. Russell at Arrowhead Pointe State Park

Lake Richard B. Russell State Park is located east of Atlanta and northwest of Augusta in Elberton near the state border of South Carolina near the Savannah River. It is home to Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course, one of the best value courses in the southeast and a previous recipient of Golf Advisors' Golfers' Choice Top 50 lists. The state park is located on a 26,650-acre lake and home to fishing and boating. There are 20, two-bedroom cottages within the park to rent, as well as RV and campsites. In addition to the 18-hole golf course on the lake, there is disc golf, fishing, bike rental, kayak and canoe rental. The golf clubhouse has a cafe and golf shop and has a banquet room for larger groups.

Pretty lake holes on the back. Nine

Staff is very friendly both in pro shop and on course. This my friends favorite course so we do the 1 1/2 hour trip at least once a year. I know the weather has been warm lately but the greens seemed very slow maybe because they are not cut as short. I understand that but the greens were very slow. Course seems in good condition but late Spring it should be. Give the course a try if you have not played here. Course layout is pretty good. Good views on back 9. I’m sure we will be back here.
