About Lake Richard B. Russell at Arrowhead Pointe State Park

Lake Richard B. Russell State Park is located east of Atlanta and northwest of Augusta in Elberton near the state border of South Carolina near the Savannah River. It is home to Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course, one of the best value courses in the southeast and a previous recipient of Golf Advisors' Golfers' Choice Top 50 lists. The state park is located on a 26,650-acre lake and home to fishing and boating. There are 20, two-bedroom cottages within the park to rent, as well as RV and campsites. In addition to the 18-hole golf course on the lake, there is disc golf, fishing, bike rental, kayak and canoe rental. The golf clubhouse has a cafe and golf shop and has a banquet room for larger groups.

Remote but worth the drive

Good golf experience. Very accommodating staff. So quiet with no traffic or houses. Just wish it was easy to get to. Recommend .

Worth the Ride

My wife and I recently moved to Anderson SC and found Arrowhead Point on TeeOff. It was described as as having fast greens and to be a shot makers course…our favorite kind of golf. What the reviewers did not mention was how beautiful the lake vistas would be and skill with which the architect routed the course up and back on the name sake point of land. Course conditions are excellent and pace of play reasonable at 4hrs. Apre Golf is non existent as is bag service…DIY, but if you want to play a great golf course this the place and worth the ride.

Nobody working

One pro shop employee was there when we arrived. They had a DNR agent turning people away at the clubhouse when we were making the turn. No food or drinks or anything from the pro shop.

One of the best values on Golf Now. Great layout and great conditions. The greens are consistent and roll true. The fairways are generous, but challenging. It is in the middle of nowhere and very picturesque.
