Country Favorite
The friendliness of the entire staff is second to none. Pace of play was slowed by cart path only conditions. Love the layout - challenging but fair. Will continue to make the 76 mile drive to play this course. Greens were a bit slow but rolled true.
Beautiful Course!
We played after a lot of rain so the course was wet. The layout was great, greens in good shape, fairways were still dormant. There was a lot of poa annua growing in the fairways, around the tees and greens. This will die off in the summer but it can leave dead spots. The course had removed (still cutting) large trees that shaded some tees and greens. This was a good sign they are working to reestablish grass where it had died or was very thin. I loved the way the course had many holes skirting around the edges of the lake. Absolutely a great design and most pleasing to the eye. My group lives about 3 hours away but we will come back when the course greens up during the peak playing season.
Great course, some easy holes and some very challenging. Greens were slow but true to line
Arrowhead pointe
Love the layout snd the course still have the slowest greens of any state park course. They were about 8 drives me crazy would play a lot more just can’t deal with wacking the ball snd short all the time. Funny thing first three holes were not that slow as I birdied two of the first three holes.. I know when I go play that I will have to deal with it but really a great course and layout and on the lake. If they at least rolled ten it would really be awesome
Wonderful course
Other than the difficult greens, I really like this course. There are a couple of holes that you can get in trouble with a good shot. The greens are hard to read and you have to read the grain.
One of my favorite courses.
Love the layout especially those holes on the point on the lake. Course was in great condition as well as the greens. Greens are challenging to read but makes it fun.
Great value too!!
Winter Round With A Friend
I'm from SC, met a friend from the Atla area.
Very nice day for mid-December.
Course was in better condition then expected for that time of the year. Fairways were dormant (as expected) but very playable. Greens were were in very good condition with a little speed. You could roll your putt, rather than hit your putt. Layout is great!
Plays like a Private Club!
This state park course is a hidden gem. The course greens conditions, fairways conditions, layout, routing on the lake all play like a private course. 4 hr 15 min round!:). And it was $37 including cart! Several beautiful over the lake or next to lake holes. We will be back!
The greens are greatly improved
I had some concerns about this course over the warm-weather months as the greens and general course condition slipped a bit. But the course is playing great for winter golf. Greens are basically perfect and roll quickly. Played twice this week -- Sunday morning around 9 and Friday afternoon around 2 -- and didn't run into a single group on the course. It's well worth an hour's drive and a crazy steal at a $24 twilight rate.
Great value!
Great course for the money. Wish it was closer to home. Definitely worth the drive.
