Nice layout/ no ball washers
Wet from recent rain
Few holes cart path only .. understandable.
Not one ball washer on course .. staff used excuse that they were removed during Covid but I believe Covid has been over for a few years so get at least
4-6 back out of maintenance shed.
Need these especially with muddy/ wet conditions
Also only one or two waste bins on whole course .
Should have 2-3 per nine holes
Good time
Course was in great condition for the time if year and staff was wonderful. Marshal is needed to monitor pace of play… too many twosomes on course
Laura S walker Golf Course
Excellent!!!! Always in great shape and reasonable price.
Pro Shop, snacks, bathrooms on course, water coolers on course. No beverage cart. One of my Top 5 courses, you will not regret taking the drive.
Worth the drive
the course is bit out-of-the way but worth the drive. I spend the month of February in St. Simons every year and make it a point to play
there 2 - 3 times even though it's about an hour's drive. The course gets better every year.
Donkey
Overalll nice course. Greens were for February, the fairways were tight with minimal grass!
Greens so good...
The staff is excellent, fairways very good for time of year.....sand traps were so nice....
but it was the greens.....just amazeballs.....slow in morning, but that wind dried them out and made them fast near end of round......great day....birdie on 18......first bird ever on that hole!!!
GPS needs tweaking
GPS on the golf carts are way too sensitive. Several times the golf cart stopped while going down the concrete golf path. Added to the frustration of the day! FIX IT.
I don’t want anyone to know how great this course is.
Outstanding greens and rest of course is great for this time of the year. It’s the best value for golf in southeast GA and Jax/Saint Augustine. I really hate to tell everyone how great it is, because I don’t want to have to deal with a crowded tee sheet 😁
Defy worth the trip...
Really glad I caught this course on the Hot Deals. Little bit of a drive for me (100 miles), but I was looking for somewhere to play New Years Day other than my home club and based on the ratings and $35 cost. It was a must try and I'll be back. Condition of the course was excellent with really fast greens and soft fairways. The GPS system in the cart is top notch and spot on.
Very playable course
We had a wonderful round at Laura S Walker golf course. The course was so nicely laid out and the greens were the best we have ever seen!
Pleasantly Surprised
I’m a truck driver. I play nice courses all over the country. When fully recovered from the storms this fall, it is a top tier course. Don’t let the location in a state park sway you from booking, as it almost kept me away. Drove 1.5 hours out of the way to play here on Thanksgiving. It down poured for 25 min on the first hole so the course played wet. Greens and fairways were slow but perfect.. Tee boxes were good. Carts have newer gps with yardage which is a helpful for a first time player. Worked as accurately as my app. The only downside was the non playing surfaces on the back nine. Can tell there was a lot of storm damage, lots of sand everywhere like the cart paths guessing that will be addressed in time. Does not affect fairways, greens or general rough area. Nice range and putting area as well. Very happy I played here. One of my favorites this season.
Greens were in beautiful shape!
Rough was mean with only being 2” high but it was impossible to find your ball! The rest of the course was in great shape, especially the greens. They were very smooth and fast!
Definitely would highly recommend to my friends!
