About Sapelo Hammock Golf Club
Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is a semi-private golf club on the Georgia coast, about an hour's drive south of Savannah. The golf club and community has a small amount of guest accommodations onsite, highlighted by The Eagle's Nest, a two-bedroom unit located above the clubhouse and overlooks the Georgia marsh. There are additional two and three-bedroom units overlooking the 4th fairway.Facts

Nice course
The course is a great value for the experience. The layout is nice. The views are good. The course conditions fair. Some of the greens need attention. As do some of the fairways near the greens. However for the price it is a very nice course.

Fun course for all levels
I took a 10- man old trip to Sapelo over the last weekend. We range from a 0.8 to a 28 handicaps. All have fun on that course. Great views and layout but the wind can make it tricky. They young man named Evin that works there is a really friendly and helpful employee. He was always smiling and willing to do anything extra to make our trip better. We will be back next May for sure.

Play almost as slow as the greens
I like the layout of this course. Not super challenging but makes you be real selective on some holes. Two par 3s require you to carry all marsh, which is a challenge I like. Only gripes I have is that they had the mens golf association's weekly tournament tee off right before our tee time so that delayed ours for almost 25 mins. Greens are slooooooow. Probably just need a cut and a good rolling. Other than that the course was in good condition and I had a great round with my dad and my brothers.

Could have been better
Greens had been sanded ...but had not been dragged/brushed. Got behind a 4-some that was making every "slow play" mistake possible. Made for a LONG day (4.5 hours ....as a single) ...and no ....no offer to have me play through.

Sapelo hammock
What a hidden gem. This course was so much fun to play. Beautiful live oak trees lined the fairways. The marsh views were outstanding...and the wildlife was spectacular. Course was very fair but challenging. We drove from Hilton Head as the courses on the island have become too expensive. This was a fairly priced course and in much better shape then most courses in HHI.

Poor Greens
We played a couple of weeks ago and the Course was great!
On this day the Greens were in very poor condition

disappointed
I don't know what has happen to greens around our area (Savannah) but they have suffered some kind of fungus or something, but the greens at Sapelo Hammock were in bad shape! The back 9 the greens were better. What I was also disappointed in that the course was charging full price and you did not get what you paid for.!
This is a beautiful course and I would highly recommend it but not at this time, Greens are important to every golfer and when they are terrible, you don't enjoy all the beauty this course offers

Like the Course!
Like the course!!! It is a pleasure to play.
The Clubhouse staff is so very nice and the lunches are great.
Greens were a little hard due to sanding but Maintenace is required. A bit disappointed with a greens keepers comments towards an elderly
Gentleman.... I hope the keeper was just having a bad day. We DO like this course and Will play it again.

Greens were top dressed
I wish they had the course flagged to let us know that they recently top dressed the greens. There was heavy sand on most of the greens on the front 9. The fairways and tee boxes are in good shape.

Greens are coming along
The course is beautiful as it winds through the oak hammocks and the salt marshes. About 80% of the greens were in very good shape with a few on the mend as evidenced by the seedlings coming up. I would expect them to be in excellent condition later in the summer of 2021 and expect to return for another round. The staff seemed a little confused about their reservation system and charged me for our rounds that my buddy paid for on line. I will be calling them tomorrow to get it straitened out.
