Slick greens, quick morning pace of play.
We were a twosome and the second group off in the morning and we played in about 3 hours. Fairways are greening up nicely. Greens were very slick and true. A very pleasant golf morning.
Convenient location on St Simons and with some work on the course would be a real treat to play every day
First - there was a member guest tournament going on the dy we played but no mention of that on Golf Now. When we arrived the pro-shop tried to send us to play the PAR 3 West course first (we should have requesed refund) but fortunately the friendly starter got us out of that situation. We then had a long round as the course was backed up the whole day (got our practice time in for spring season!).
Tees and Faiways need tons of work - very thin turf in many areas (hazard markings in the fairway, etc... - not good).
Trees need attention s they are creating issues for turf and are encroaching into fairways where not intended in original design.
Traps were better this round but were not consistent; still need work.
Greens were ok and were consistent but need work also to prevent being burned in the spring/summer.
You have better options for almost the same dollars until improvements are made unfortunately. Mgt should put out notice of course conditions and inform golf now about tournament play in advance of booking tee times.
Hopefully the course will be improved with the new ownership that occured late 2012.
I know it's winter, but the conditions barely warrented what you charged to play the course.
It needed work! There was virtually no over seeding . Compared to Pine Lakes on Jekyll Island, it was a desert. Greens were too slick. It should be no more than $25 any day, any time. They might get some play if they lowered their prices to be on a par to the course condition.
It was OK, but it wouldn't be my mains stay course.
Beautiful course with great features
Can't wait to play this course again! It has unique dog legs with challenging putting.
Nice course for the price.
Can't beat it for $25. Course has nice layout, some rough spots on fairways but greens were very nice.
The price is right
We played on a cooler cloudy day and there were only about five groups on the course. Played in three hours. Fairway grass is marginal and thin with some bare dirt spots but for the price I'm not complaining. Overall a good deal.
beautiful tree lined fairways
no two fairways are parallel!! hardly any straight or plain hole designs. all par threes have quite a bit of challenge. course does not have any winter overseeding, even on the greens. having said this, greens were in very good condition, with nice speed. for the price, a very good value. bag drop was very friendly.
Excellent Course with Friendly Staff
We played here early in January and early in the day. The course was not busy at all, which made for a very relaxing and quick round. Course is in good shape with some tricky putting on some of the greens. Water comes into play on some holes and there is lots of sand bunkers. The staff was warm and friendly. For a green fee of $39 right on the island, value cannot be beat. Will be back for sure.
Great Greens, but little else...
This course has great greens, but the rest fell way short. There was no definition from the rough and fairway, tee boxes needed plenty of attention and the bunkers were soggy. I would play again, but not at 49.00.
Nice average resort course - fun to play
This course is an average resort course, but the layout is fun to play. The course has been maintained well each time I have been here which makes it pleasing to the eye. The special rates from Golf Now make it worth the drive out off I-95.
The fairways were great
The course is great but some of the greens need repair. I paid $50 for a 4:30 tee time and the course was definitely not worth $50 bucks, maybe $30 but not $50. I recommend playing the course but only if you can catch a deal on GolfNow.
Great value and Greens were great.
Enjoyed the golf course. The greens were in excellent condition and rolled great. Great value.
Beautiful Course, small and challenging greens, nice bunkers, water hazards
This is a fun and challenging course. Enjoyed the live oaks and palmettos, water hazards and nice bunkers. Greens are small and sloped. Accuracy in play is a plus. Lacks distance aids, helps to have a range finder or GPS. Has Bermuda grass fairways and roughs. Greens were in excellent shape.
Great course - Great value.
Fairways and greens were in great shape. We were able to play quickly.
Sea Palms, golf on the cheap
Great experience. First eagle, other than a hole in one, in years on number 11.
