Reviews
Meh
For the price and prestige, I expected a completely different experience. If you're looking for a course with the same layout for 18 holes, you're in luck. No beverage cart and water stations were dry for half the course. It's clearly a cash cow to charge tourists whatever they want. I feel any of the cheaper courses around Maui play the exact same for a quarter of the cost. Greens were in rough shape with burn patches everywhere. Barely any scenic views, unless you enjoy looking at the back side of people's vacation houses. One hole played alongside a crowded public beach. Dress code felt optional as some individuals were playing in muscle shirts. No Marshall for upkeeping pace of play. Clubhouse personal were not friendly or helpful except bag boy with the club rentals was very nice. I give him 5 stars, no one else. Course starter not friendly and did not explain course at all. I would suggest spending hard earned money elsewhere
Buck
Good course…..but was told by the starter I could have saved some money by booking directly with the course (military and Junior rate)!
Great course
The Kai course is a great course to get out an play. This was our 3rd time playing this course and enjoy it the same every time. Friendly staff, great course!
Great course but too expensive for visitors
Why do visitors to maui pay almost double to what locals pay? Not fair!
Great vistas, and good value for the money
Played for the first time yesterday, and a slow Sunday afternoon was the ticket for us. Course was in very good condition, nice open fairways, and beautiful visitors are. A very good value by Hawaii standards.
Maui Christmas
Great course layout, spectacular views. highly attentive staff and perfect weather. Highly recommend this course.
Aloha and Mahalo for your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your round and we will share your review with our team. Yes, the views, the layout, and the weather are always spectacular are Kaanapali Golf courses. We look forward to serving you again soon.
Good, but not great
The Royal Course was difficult for the first time being played. Course conditions by Hawaii standards were average and the layout was the same. It was fun to play however compared to Wailea or Kapalua it doesn't come close in my opinion.
Aloha and thank you for taking the time to write. Sounds like we met most of your expectations and promise to work on the rest. Hope to see you again in the near future. Mahalo.
Little expensive
Good course in good shape but overpriced because it is in maui. Like to see some golf packages such as $100 a round for booking 3 rounds or more
Great Course
Course is in excellent shape, greens were slick and in near perfect condition. Enjoyed the layout.
Aloha and Mahalo for giving us your feedback. We will be sure to let our team know you enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to see you again soon!
Absolutely beautiful course
Aloha and thank you for taking the time to write. Here at Kaanapali Golf Courses we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and our course conditions. We are thrilled you enjoyed your experience. Hope to see you again in the near future. Mahalo.
This was a well maintained course
The veiws are stunning and the greens are the fastest we played on Maui. The only drawback when we played the wind was about 27 mph in the morning or we would have had an even better time.
Aloha and Mahalo for giving us your feedback. We will be sure to let our team know you enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to see you again soon!
Great course & staff
Easy to book, rent clubs and buy all accessories for a nice round of golf at this course.
Great views and course conditions.
Course is great, driving range is awful
The course is amazing and can see why it’s consistently rated one of the best in Maui. The driving range is an absolute joke and makes you feel like you’re playing at some low budget municipal course. For a Troon golf course and the amount you have to pay, you expect high end course AND facilities. It really dampens the whole experience. For the money I’d likely go someplace else.
Aloha and Mahalo for giving us your feedback. We will be sure to let our team know you enjoyed your experience with us. At 250 yards long, our driving range is primarily a "warm up" range but we continue to look for ways to improve the customer experience there. We hope to see you again soon!
2nd class to Royal. Windy as all.heck that day.
Playing Royal first was a good idea, as I knew immediately hi course is a distant second. Unfortunately the way I played it was about 40 mile an hour winds, which made every club swing a bit of a guessing game. But my wife and I both enjoyed it and look forward to coming back again
Overpriced
1. You pay separately for range balls
2. Not prestine condition
3. Just you regular home course
Golf cart wouldnt get up the hills on back 9 - had to push it Cart GPS had no button to call clubhouse for assistance. For the price paid, this shouldnt have happened. No bevwrage cart out and it was an extremely hot datly. Pro shop staff could be much more personable.
Aloha and Mahalo for giving us your feedback. We are happy to announce that after long supply chain delays, we just got our new fleet of 170 brand new carts this week. We hope to see you here at Kaanapali Golf Courses again soon!
Aloha and thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations especially the spectacular scenery and our signature 5th Hole on the Royal Course which people all over the world come to experience. It's a magnificent par 4 which takes you right down to the water's edge. Mahalo.
