Not a casual place
The only complaint I have on this course is that the starter doesn't methodically space out groups. We teed off and by the third hole, we felt rushed. The group behind us was coming up fast. We were not slow but these 2 guys were hounding us. Finally, they caught up and we let them pass. Shortly after that, a single woman was hitting her ball close to us. On every shot, she was about 50 yards from us. We try to let her jump us but she stayed back and hover. Our replay round at 2:00pm was better. Nice easy pace like a hawaiian round should be.
Great staff and course views
Greeted as we got out of our car by friendly staff. Wife is new golfer and loved the beautiful course. Golfers we met were very nice. So we’re the Nene and turkeys. We would love to call this our home course!
Mostly local members play
Wanted to find a not so expensive course to play along the Kona, HI coast after playing several high-end courses on my vacation. Got a good deal on GolfNOw for $85 at 11am start. Greens were in better shape than some of the more expensive tracts, but fairways and tee boxes were "chewed up" with bare spots, some weeds. Biggest problem was the "Fivesome" in front of our twosome that would not let us play thru. We followed this group (probably members) for 11 holes, waiting on tee box and in fairways for them to clear the next green. Pretty aggravating that the club allows this to happen. No Ranger on the course either.
Nice
Stay out of the lava and you will be fine. Number 6 has quite a view.
Not a resort course
No gps, little sand in traps, cups not changed today, beverage cart was only beer, bar closed, just your average Florida style public course.
Fun
Course in good shape. Had fun even with the wind 10-15mph
