Nice view and friendly atmosphere
Being an average golfer, it is the most important to make round in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. This is one of the golf courses that gives such circumstances. Fifteen minutes uphill drive from R20 will immediately take you to this course, which is right in the middle of Waikoloa Village. Obviously out courses were renovated, and the condition is far better than before. In courses are still in the process of renovation. in some holes you have to hit from nearly bare ground.
In some of the holes you can enjoy good mountain view and ocean view. No. 18 is quite enjoyable hoke with a pond before the green. If you can finish this hole in strategically good manner, you have the feeling of completion. If not, you want to come back again.
Fun course
The course is fun and pretty easy for beginners. The conditions were were ok. Some greens were a little sun burnt. Not worth 180 dollars for 18. The ocean course was the most fun.
For the cost of the round the course was in poor to fair condition. Fairways were bare in many areas and the greens were terrible. Not worth the money to play.
Nice little course
An excellent choice for a challenging game if you’re tired of the big expensive ones on the island. The course was in ok condition, but pretty dry and the fairways are full of crabgrass. Really fun layout and worth the time/money!
Fun course, excellent staff and wonderful pace of play
Wouldn't play again
My first experience playing this course. It's an average course, but was warned by hotel attendant before heading out that the greens aren't great. The weather was hot- visited in late July. The staff were great. But I played behind a family who were not pacing well. They played multiple shots over and didn't seem to understand how I should be playing through. After waiting about 10 mins at a tee box, I skipped past so I didn't get to finish the hole or even play it. Fairways were avg, and greens were in poor condition. Sandy and grainy. I ended up stopping play at the 12th hole, and left. I'd not play again for this price.
Out of towners
Played here for the second time after being gone 2years.. friendly staff and course conditions were very good, much like before. Definitely recommend this course as a good deal and fun to play.
Good course, Good price, Nice staff
First time playing this course and we really enjoyed it. Nice views of the ocean and really nice greens. Not as spectacular the courses close to the water but all in all a nice place to play golf and also forgiving. If you don't want to have to deal with lava rock left and right of the Fairways then this is your course. Matt was a stand out at the pro shop! Thank you Matt for your advice and kindness! Also the price to play is much less than the courses down the hill.
Andrew
Played 9 holes - super quiet, nice scenery. Course was in OK condition.
Great Big Island Golf
Son and I played Waikoloa Village golf course twice in one week during July 2022. Golf Now price was excellent especially contrasted with Waikoloa Shores where we were staying. And Hawaii golf experice there was just fine.
They tricked me
Thought I was going to play at the Waikoloa beachside course. NO, this course is miles away at a small town. Don't be fooled!
Lucky day usually windy course
Apparently this is usually a breezy course but made it to 16 without much then felt Mother Nature wake up, partly due to slow play in front or I would have avoided all together. I would say if the full 18 had been windy (25 mph) I wouldn’t have had as much fun. Tried to add a picture of 3 which has a pond blocking the green, 168 from white tees so tips could get hairy. Green shaggy fairways and advice from the pro shop was “roughs are rough” and they were, wedges had to get balls first no room for fat hits.
Nice course
We enjoyed playing here. There aren’t many bad lies and the rough isn’t very rough. Exceptional wind can be a challenge, but no more so than other courses on this part of the island.
