Course was fun to play
They punched the greens 3wks prior so putting was difficult. First hole par 5 is a great eagle hole. 18 was the signature hole and very challenging. Would play again after greens mellow out.
Awesome course
The course was well maintained, rental clubs were great.
Good course.
Good course kept in good shape. Rental clubs cost more then a round of golf and were very used.
Great views and vista
Very little ball run on the Kikuyu grass which was not mown short.
Enjoy the mountain views
It was nice to play this course when the wind wasn't howling and all the surrounding moutains were in view. The course is well maintained.
beautiful views of ocean and Mauna Kea.
The wind is always a factor on this course. Local knowlege and a range finder are helpful because of out of bounds and hazards
Nice casual experince, not pretentious
Good course layout, but facilities a little lacking since it's not a resort course
Outstanding course
Great, wide open course with subtle changes. Greens deceiving and quick. Like the course and staff so well we played it four times during our 9 day stay! Best rental clubs (taylormade rocketball) of any of the courses in the Kona area.
great for price and course
Wonderful course and in excellent shape. Very friendly staff. Got there late by about 10 min. Got put back about half hour so could hit a few practice ball in first before playing. Oceanview is great. But I went to play golf first.
new carts, well maintained and excellent greens.
loved every part of this course except the bunkers. they are fiilled with pea gravel!?.
The courses was great and fun to play, and a great value at the GolfNow.com "hot deal" pricing.

this is a fair and rewarding golf course
this is a golf course that is not one roll away from stealing your ball THis to me for the value is the best course in the area
Fairway grass is a new challenge but learnable...
Rough is a half a stroke easy....
Bunkers are different some small pebbles so a mixture of sand and pebbles.....shallow......hard.....
Nice course but very windy
A fun challenging course to play made more difficult due to high winds
Windy day, but had fun anyway!
We prepaid for this course and, as it turned out, had a pretty windy day. But, we were in Hawaii and playing golf on a sunny day with the temperature in the mid 70's. Why whine about 20+ mph winds? The course was in good condition, well maintained and looking very nice! The greens were quick, but not like lightening. The fairways were not chewed up and quite green. The rough was not US Open length, but you didn't want to play from it all day. The staff greeted us with smiles and were friendly all around. I have a friend that golfs once a year, when my wife & I come to visit. He had planned to play about half the round then just follow along. But, he enjoyed the course as much as we do, and played all 18 holes. He said it was a very fun course and looks forward to our next visit so he can play it again. We have fallen in love with the course and will probably make it one of our regular stops while on the Big Island!
The course was fun to play.
The course was in better condition than we thought it would be. It had some fun and interesting holes. Enjoyed playing the course, even in the wind.
First Rate
I just got back from playing this course. I got a great price on GolfNow. The service was first rate. I didn't have anyone to join me, but the started saw that a single was a few holes ahead, so he drove up and asked if he wanted to wait for me, and he did. That was good service. POP was fine because the course did not seem to be particularly crowded, and we finished in about 3:45. The conditions were terrific. The fairways were like carpet, the greens were fast and true, although I never did figure out the grain, and the bunkers were very even and fair. The layout is interesting with lots of hills, even though it's right on the ocean. I wouldn't recommend walking. Some terrific views, particularly #3, which plays over a small inlet. The rack it is $235. I've never paid that much to play, but given the service and conditions I would not say it is out of line. Overall, highly recommended, especially if you can get a good rate.
A pleasant course
This is a nice course situated in Waikoloa Village it winds through the condo village resort and the town itself. Fairways and greens are fair. Staff was friendly. There are a couple of holes that will grab your attention. Price was good with golfnow at $50 w cart. Be careful though the only drawback was the bunkers; they were like tiny pebbles stones than grainy sand. The greens were not as fast as the practice green, so you might come up short in the first few holes. Overall its a good course for the price.
Beautiful condition with open fairways
We liked this course for sure and 39 with golf now was a steal. Definite to play while in Kona.
Windy as h___!
Wind gusts up to 40mph made the course virtually unplayable with so many holes into the wind. When we finished we were advised the course had been closed. Why were we not accorded the same courtesy. Overall a nice track but could not really enjoy the scenery as had to concentrate on the wind. Hats blew off numerous times and ball blown off the tee on at least 5 occasions. Traps need a lot of work...either no loose sand at all or crushed stones which are hard on your clubs. Would consider playing again under the right conditions but would not be my first choice with so many others to choose from.
OK course. good value for $$$$.
WIND!!!
Front 9 was OK.. but wind picked up (easily 30-40 mph) which made the back 9 difficult... nearly impossible.. quit before finishing...
I mistakenly reviewed Mauna Kea and posted it for Waikoloa Village, so this review is for a different course. I have notified GolfNow to correct. Mauna Kea is a terrific course.
