Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Great course
Short but difficult. Great sand and greens. You yourself a favor and play it.
Play is too slow
Maybe a short, one page written handout (or post it in the carts) about golf etiquette. Like....really....some people wait for the players in front to get on the green before they tee off.
Slow greens
Course is short but tight. new bunkers are well placed. one foursome held up play yet there were no rangers to be seen. Greens were undulated but extremely slow
Short but tough
Front nine tight with trees and blind shots, back nine wide open plays longer!
Not a bad course to build confidence yet be challeneged
Eaglewood is a resort course, short but well laid out.
Some interesting holes and fun to play
Greens could be better maintained, shaggy and a bit inconsistent green to green as far as play and roll
Short w/ Good Elevation
Eaglewood is one of my favorite "easier" courses in the area. At just over 6,000 yards this very generous par-72 leaves you feeling good about yourself after 18 holes. What I love most about this course are all of the elevated tee boxes. The front 9 really stands to me. The only drawbacks of this course are how tightly-packed it is (beware of incoming balls) course) the almost always "dazed" starter that doesn't seem to know how to efficiently get groups out. Beyond that, I am a big fan of Eaglewood and think it's a great value.
Nice encouraging course
The course is wonderful for novice such as myself. I was able to putt for birdie on 9 out of 18 holes. What a great feeling!!! Only made 2. Lol enjoy and swing easy!!!
Will NOT go back
After finishing the first 14 holes in just over 4 hours, we reached the nexus of tee boxes for holes 11, 15 and 18. My wife complained to one of 2, yes two rangers that were hanging around this area. The ranger actually began to ARGUE with my wife that "we should expect this, it's busy", and "that's pretty good for a weekend". He finally went ahead and asked the group in front of us to speed up. They picked up the pace and we finished in just under 5 hours. But the pace for the last 4 holes was a good 15 minutes per hole. The first 14 were 17 minutes per hole or so. What this course apparently doesn't realize is that the 2 minutes per pace difference per hole is 30 minutes for the first 14 holes. A 4 1/2 hour round would have been pretty good. The sad part is this is a 6,000 yard course. Pretty easy and a nice layout. A 4 1/2 hour round should be very easy to manage. But not only do they not want to bother to manage it, they are willing to actually argue and debate the issue. In fact the ranger actually suggested "your wife should just tee off". So arguing over slow play and being sexist will keep us from going back to what is actually a nice little layout. "Oh we don't bother the outings for slow play". Wow! Simply wow.
like the course
good course to play with challenging greens friendly staff and fun to play
Good Value
Booked a tee time an hour before on a Sunday Afternoon. It was a great value for what we payed, the staff was very friendly. The worst part about it was that it was such a nice day pace of play was really slow because everyone else was out playing as well.
Slow for a Saturday
Went off at 9:52, the starter was very eager to keep us to that time slot. Finished the first 3 holes in an hour and twenty. Course was horribly backed up from the start. I shot a 39 on the front, but it took more that 3 hours just for the front. Finished all 18 in over 5.5 hours.
Tricky little guy
This course was very nice and had a few tricky holes that will keep the golfer on his toes.
Great maintenance on a difficult layout
We arrived early but the friendly staff accommodated our needs immediately. We are below average golfers, and several of us found the bunkers often; however, each one was in excellent shape. The rough was also manageable, but the left side of most holes were trouble. Nearly all the greens were angled but it was easy to get a read pretty early. We had a terrific time.
Nice course
A very short course, but the bunkers make you think. Conditions were good, but was expecting the greens to be a bit quicker. For $30, it's a good value.
Value Course
The course is in excellent shape. Its not a long course but if played from the tips it can make for a good round. The greens where in excellent shape, They dont have too much break to deal with.
Practice course
Course in good shape. Play is extremely slow due to the fact it's an amateur level course. I highly recommend it for advanced beginners or if you're advanced further, it's a good iron practice. Holes are very short even the par 5's. Prepare to spend some time out there!!
Course is getting better
I played here many times before but I stopped comming because the greens were really in bad shape, this year I played the course again and the greens has improved alot, the greens are not fast but they 10 times better than before, will be coming back again soon.
Great
Course short but good greens. Phenomenal food indife
Friendly Staff
All the staff went above and beyond to make your day at the course the best. Course was clearly taken care of, however players are not very respectful of the course and do not rake traps or fix ball marks. Resort is absolutely beautiful and pool and jacuzzi was way to decompress after a day of 36 holes!
Fun layout
Eaglewood course has a nice mix of short and long holes. Fun for the older or female golfer, but a nice challenge from the tips.
Unfortunately, this same quality sometimes attracts participants that have a less than desirable knowledge of, and skill for, the game of golf.
Accordingly, be prepared to keep in close contact with the beer cart.
