Great state park course
I’ve played several state park courses in Tn and a few in Ky and this one was by far the best
The Staff
Without a doubt the entire staff never ceases to amaze me with their courtesy! Great course!
Challenging but Fun Course
I found Gen Burnside Golf Course slightly challenging, but enjoyable. The only flat surface is on the tee box. Thank goodness for the well laid out asphalt cart paths, and my hat is off to whoever poured all that concrete! This is definitely a rolling, up and down hills course.
One of the best KY State Park Courses
Really enjoyed this big bold course that was redone in the 90s I believe. Course had large receptive greens in perfect condition, plenty of strategic bunkering and large elevation changes creating many scenic golf holes.
The course is normally in good shape and a good layout, however due to some rain and recent aeration of greens it was not up to par.
Great golf course
The Fairways were still dormant but love playing this course.
Lack of carts
On 12/3/2021, I visited the course with the anticipation of playing nine holes, however, I was told that there were no openings due to lack of carts. Admittedly, I did not have a tee time, was just a walk up, but was told that carts had been sent out that morning to be winterized. The temperature forecast that day was for highs to be in the seventies, so not exactly sure why you would purposely short yourself carts on a prime day for golfing. However, the real consternation that I have over the whole situation was that, after being told no openings due to no carts, as I was leaving, on hole 16, there were 5 golfers with 5 carts. Not real customer friendly business practice.
Really enjoyed playing Burnside again. No crowd today. Very peaceful. Greens were perfect.
