Golfing in KY
We were paired with a single who plays the course & this was most helpful. Some roughs were a challenge to find your ball. Bunkers were well maintained. Greens in good shape but not as fast as we liked. O/A impression of course very good with several scenic holes. We played hole #13 to the tune of "My Old Kentucky Home" coming from the the Stephen Foster venue near the course.Thoroughly enjoyed our round and would come back to play in the future.
The course needs a hair cut
This is one of my favs but this little jem of a course needs a 2nd cut along the already narrow fairways. The greens are nice and the course plays well, its only about 6800 from the tips. They have a sign in the mens restroom that mentions slow play and ready golf but the slow play is because nobody can find their ball if they miss the fairway just a couple of feet so they look for their ball for 10 minutes. The course is set right outside a nice little country town so if staying over night would be a plus..
One of Ky’s best
The course is in really good shape. Greens were a little slow but consistent. Fairways cut nice and roughs were a reasonable and fair length. Lots of dog legs for a challenge but scoring is possible. Have played several State Park courses this year and My Old Kentucky Home is one of the very best.
The course was in great shape and helped create a great round of golf (not score, but great time)
Great round!
Had a great round of golf as always at My Old Kentucky Home golf course, the course was in great shape and beautiful. Love playing here!
great place to play
the greens and fairways was in good shape the rough needed mowing hard to find your ball
Great shape
The rough is pretty thick in spots and it adds to the difficulty. Overall the greens were great. The bunkers are as good as they can be the morning after a night of rain. A little dense but still able to get the ball out. Overall great condition as usual. If you're over 50 the pro shop will be very nice. If you're under 30 expect to be treated like a child.
Will play again!
Fairway Bermuda was spotty with a couple of holes very thin.
Can't wait to play again!
I used to play this course often, but hadn't played it in a couple of years. Man was I happy to play this course again. We played the from the #3 Tees. The Boxes and Fairways (Minus a section of #15) were in wonderful shape. The Greens were perfect, the rough was tall but very manageable. My only negative, all be it very minor, was that it took us 5 hours to play due to a group in front of us who wouldn't allow anyone to play through. The course, scenery and the playing of My Old Kentucky Home in the background more than made up for the wait. I highly recommend you give this course a try. You wont be sorry. I will be back myself in the very near future.
I will be back!!!

This course was in great shape. They were hosting the Bourbon Invitational.
I booked this on a whim and it turned out to be great. The Bourbon Invitational was in progress and we fell in right behind the last group of the day. On the par 3 17 I was given a great frozen margarita even though we were not part of the tournament. The plays was excellent and it rained us out on hole 18.
Poor condition
I have played here many times, and course is usually in pretty good condition, but not this time. Rough allowe to grow so that any shot not in fairway was almost impossible to find. Greens slow, but fair. Quite a few dead spots for this time of year. Staff was great, as always.
Great shape but packed
The staff was friendly the course was in great shape but it was packed that day and took about 5 hours to play 18 all in all I still had a good day
My old KY home
Fairways needed to be cut and were not grown in. Rough was very thick and hard to find your ball.
Greens were in great shape.
There were no fairways
While booking it said to expect "recovery conditions" but the fairway was completely dead. Some holes had large patches of dirt. It was very early in the season so I'm sure this course cleans up well.
