Signature Hole #17 Photo submitted by NateRamsey on 04/13/2013
It’s not great
Very very average municipal like course that is some what poorly maintained. Layout is bizarre. It is not what you hope to get for around $80 a round. That plus a total lack of amenities isn’t worth a positive review. Some nice views of the landscape would be a positive for this course.
Great layout, well kept and friendly staff
We were very pleased with the round. Great design and well kept.
Needs Work!
Bunkers awful-grass and weeds, no edging, need sand
Greens-very slow, difficult to adjust when playing greens 11-13, turf OK
Fairways and rough good
Putting green large but very slow.
Staff very helpful
Poor Course Conditions and Highly Overpriced
The course was in poor condition and surely not worth the $90 they charged. I wouldn't pay $25 for a course in the condition it was in. Looks like they are hardly taking care of it and its tough to figure out what is fairway and rough. The bunkers haven't been touched in years and we considered them ground under repair. Stay away.
Disappointing
Played this course 10 years ago and loved it. Group of friends go on a golf trip every year and decided to go back. This was by far the worst maintained course I have ever played. Fairways had areas of dirt and weeds. Tees were in poor shape and bunkers had little sand and weeds growing in the middle. In one trap I had to move a section of drainage pipe so I could hit my ball. This is a 25.00 a round course which is a far cry from the $ 95.00 we paid. Every person in our group was incredibly disappointed in the course and cost.
My group had many suggestions which ranged from turning it into a wildlife sanctuary to building townhouses on it.
Very very poorly maintained course.
Great course, work on the greens
The course layout is awesome. The views are awesome. Being able to hit balls before is awesome but the greens were beat up and need work. Unless you are getting the twilight rate, I wouldn’t play it.
Potential
Course was in okay shape. Fairways were hairy with some tall grass. Rough could be mowed more, even at the same length, maybe just against the grain once every one or two weeks. Tee boxes are very uneven. Bunkers on the front 9 are in very poor shape. Seems like most of the attention is on lodestone. The layout has serious potential. The course was either really nice at one point or could be with some work. For the price, there is no reason it shouldn’t be in better shape. The front 9 is far more difficult due to tight fairways and could really set the tone if it was in better shape. Back 9 is far more friendly for average golfers but still suffers the same maintenance issues.
Good Layout - Improvements Needed
Great track, challenging layout that will test your game. Beautiful property with great views. Course can use some work, it’s got bunker issues (need to replace/fill sand) and greens are in pretty rough shape. Seems like they could use some help as there’s wasn’t a starter or groundskeeper to be found on the property the whole day. Hopefully they get the help they need to improve this beautiful course to it’s full potential
Wasn't as bad as recent reviews
Read recent reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The greens were in good shape. The fairways weren't bad either. The bunkers lacked sand but for the $35 greens fee, it was a decent course
Alotta money for meh...
I dare say overrated.... The fees you pay at times to play this course, and the conditions you get do not match up. The bunkers are not well kept at all. You can see the tarp that is supposed to be under sand in many bunkers... #9 a glaring example. There are completely burnt and cracked soil feet off the green. Moss is on some greens. Not a single person that played before us owned a divot tool. Ha! Simply put, I expect much more from this course. People here are great.
