Gull Lake View Golf Resort
About Gull Lake View Golf Resort
Since the 1960s, the Scott family has transformed 2,000 acres in southwest Michigan into one of America's largest golf resort communities. Situated in the appropriately named Augusta, Michigan, near Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Gull Lake View Golf Resort has become synonymous with affordable packages where golfers stay in comfortable villas to enjoy six different courses, all from different eras. The East and West courses were built in the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, with the two Stonehedge courses added later in 1989 and 1994. The family bought the Bedford Valley, a classic course known for hosting tournaments, in 1988 and then put the feather in the cap, debuting the linksy Stoatin Brae by Renaissance Golf Design in 2017. Those who fall in love with the experience can buy real estate in one of several neighborhoods.Facts

Great day with my buddies
The course was spectacular, the only gripe we had was the greens were not as fast as we are use to. Pace of play was great, we would have been the group slowing anybody else down. we had the course pretty much to to ourselves. Highly recommend this course, can't wait to get back.
Beautiful Course
My husband and I played Gull Lake View East and it was spectacular. The elevation changes and steep hills made it a little more challenging but it was amazing looking out all around at the beautiful landscape from a high elevation at several tee boxes. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. We will be back! And we live 4 hours away so that is saying something.
Wonderful layout great staff very good pace of play will be back..
Wonderful Course!
Everything was Superb! The course is in excellent shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in wonderful condition. This is truly a great course! A little busy, but who can blame so many for playing this course. Will play again.
Love this course!
Great weather… great layout… greens in great condition!
Why you SHOULD play Bedford Valley Country Club
Booked round the day prior on GolfNow due to golfing being a last minute decision, and we were happy we picked Bedford Valley. The course was in good shape, which was even more impressive considering it is the end of September. I was hesitant to play here due to being part of Gull Lake View group - played Stoatin Bay two weeks ago and the course was in horrible condition. Bedford Valley changed my perception of the group.
There was limited merchandise as well as beverage/food options, but I’m guessing that is due to playing near the end of season. Merchandise was 30%, so if you play this fall check out their pro-shop.
They had new carts (gas) which were nice. The carts don’t have GPS which was a drawback, especially not knowing the course and/or distances to hazards. If you use a GPS app or range finder you will be fine.
There weren’t many cart paths, so at times it was confusing where to go for the next tee box, but it is easy enough to figure out quickly - just know you may make a wrong turn or two.
There was standing water in some bunkers, but unless the course can control the weather I’m not sure you wouldn’t run up against that same issue anywhere.
The course reminds me of a northern Michigan course with trees surrounding it, and in the fairways. I loved the layout, but if you don’t control your drives you may not enjoy this course. There is distance to some of the holes, and well placed hazards / tree-lines to ensure if you hit a great shot you are rewarded if playing against someone who may hit the ball a mile but has no idea where it is going.
There wasn’t water coolers or bathrooms on the course - which is a drawback - especially if you play on a warmer day.
Overall, this is a good course and one I would recommend to anyone wanting to go out and golf. I would play again.
Greens in great shape
Entire course in great shape. Made it very enjoyable to play.
Golf
Very good especially with power outage in the area.
Fun to play
Fun layout , Lack of course knowledge made some tee shot lines difficult, greens in good condition a little slower than my liking. Balls hit in the long grass will be lost , some of the thickest grass I have ever encountered on a golf course. Staff was friendly and helpful , we played in 3hrs50min as a foursome.
Very enjoyable round
Gull Lake View East Course
Clumps if grass in fairways as appeared was mowed recently and grass was long, so ball picked up a lot of grass and had to clean and replace as huge clumps stuck to ball, greens in excellent condition, overall very nice
Disappointed
Second time playing this course. It has slipped badly in the three years since first visit. Although a "Holiday" weekend,, restaurant was not open, No on course beverage cart, only a lightly stocked halfway house at the Ninth crossover. Very rocky sand traps, rough tee boxes, and "shaggy" most everywhere that it shouldn't be. Greens were good,, being able to make a putt saved the round for our foursome. We felt Price was too much for what we experienced. Course rating in Michigan seems way to high.
Super fun
The hole variety is awesome, 6 par 5’s 6 par 4’s 6 par3’s. Super run layouts! Lots of elevation changes! Big bunkers and water hazards! Fun and challenging!!!!!
