About Lutsen Resort
Lutsen Resort On Lake Superior sits where the Poplar River meets the largest Great Lake (also the second-largest lake in the world). The historic resort – home to lodge rooms, log cabins, townhomes, Sea Villas and Poplar River Condos - overlooks a large pebble beach of a secluded, private cove where swimming, kayaking and fishing are perfect summer past times. The Scandinavian architecture offers a special charm. Romantic dining comes courtesy of the Waterfront Dining Room. The resort fee allows for complimentary 9-hole pitch and putt golf, disco golf, shuffleboard, indoor pools and hot tubs, live music on the beach and nightly bonfires with smores kits available at the front desk. The scenic 27-hole Superior National at Lutsen is a “driver and a 7 iron” away from the resort.Facts

Wonderful golf outing on the North Shore
We enjoyed our annual outing to Superior National. It's a spectacular place to play on a beautiful summer day.
There were a couple of greens that had suffered and were in rough shape. When we played there before the flowers and landscaping were beautiful. The clubhouse was seeming a little shabby, needs some stain and fixing on concrete. I am very pleased we got a deal from golf now, not sure it is worth the full price anymore. However, the vistas are still amazing!!!
Great day, great layout
Haven’t been to Lutsen for maybe 10 years but the course was as fun as I remembered. A few greens were a little rough but other than that it was a great round.
Tough Days
We have played this course many times in the past. It is absolutely a beautiful place to play. However, this time many of the greens were in really rough condition. Not sure what has happened? Even some of the fairways were sparse in many places. Winter rules is the only way to describe some fairways. So a little disappointing this time around.
great course to play
Fabulous layout!!!!! Course conditiions were only fair as the fairway has some weedy areas but we played winter rules. The greens did have some winter kill that still has thin areas. Despite these problems, the scenery is spectacular and worth the experience.
Winterkill
Many greens and fairways are brown with winter kill or lack of spring rain. Nice course but given conditions greens fee are too high. Front desk personnel were very personable.
Very scenic course
played this course a handful of times . The setting is beautiful ,with Lake Superior in the background , and a fast flowing river on several holes . Like several courses this year , the greens weren’t very good , with a lot of winter kill . Will play again ,when conditions are better .
Course conditions
Great views and love the layout. Have played for many years and many tee boxes, fairways and greens were pock marked and is in some of the worst shape I’ve seen. Certainly not worth the expensive greens fees. Not near the quality of the Wilderness in Tower MN.
Awesome Spot
The course is a sight to see - loved my time at the club. The views are tremendous, the sounds of the river coming down the mountain, while having to hit over and next to that river is awesome. Teeing off on 9, hitting directly at Lake Superior is a fun memory. Would absolutely play again, and I will recommend to others.
Greens were aerated
Greens were aerated and putts were greatly affected. Treated golf now customer like I was less. Gave cart to others over me.
Awesome to play over Labor Day weekend.
Team was super friendly and awesome. Course set up well and with new additions to improve course (bunkers with berea sand, paving and pavers on back 9 a big improvement.
Greens were very consistent and thanks for holding off fall aeration until after Labor Day.
We will be back!
