Course in great shape
This course is always in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways & greens are super! Bunkers not very good but just don’t hit it there and you’ll be fine. 😁
Worth the trip
Grabbed a hot deal on a whim the day before I played. Had about a 45 minute drive to the course (didn’t bother me) and wow was it honestly worth it. Course is in very good condition, I’m new to Bermuda grass but it was cut and lined very well. Greens were a comfy speed on the faster side, and rolled very true. Staff was incredibly polite and helpful. Definitely a course where you want to stay straight off the tee, or you’re making a lot of big numbers. I’ll be back!
Course needs TLC
The bunkers have no sand, grass has grown up in them. Some of the greens are in bad shape along with a few of the fairways. We only paid $32 for 18 holes so wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t crowded and played in 3 1/2 hours.
Terrible Conditions
Very Disappointed. Sand traps have been covered over with grass. Weeds and bare spots in fairway. Tee boxes (White) are barren of grass. Many greens are in bad shape. This is NOT a $60 golf course. If you are not going to do any maintenance, then charge accordingly. This is a $30-$35 course on a good day.
Great Course on perfect day
South of Memphis best course I have played. Green were perfect and although water on nearly every hole the layout allows for you to play without regards to water. Good practice area and all the amenities you would expect from course costing much more.
Pace of play
They allowed a NINESOME play Pace of play was so slow we had to quit half way through.
What where they thinking!!!!!
Windy & slow play
The Pro shop put a large group in front of us, and there did not appear to be anybody keeping them on pace. The round took just under five hours. The fairways had some brown spots but they were not too bad. The greens were in great shape. There are some fun holes involving tricky, water, and sand shot. There was no beverage cart. We had lots of strong swirling wind.
Terrible management
The management on the golf side is terrible and inconsistent at best. All members complain about the new General manager and the golf experience since he has been employed at Tunica National. The condition of the course has also suffered... bunkers are mud and full of water on most days and have been for the last year with no repair in sight. Once members had paid for this season, they were told they could not get tee times before 10am Fri, Sat and Sunday and will not refund membership dues now that they have changed rules.
The Staff on the golf side are very rude and have yelled and cussed at members and non-members. I highly suggest Riverbend golf course as they are extremely nice and accommodating... they also have the best greens around!
Always enjoy playing this course. Greens are in great condition every time I play here.
The staff is kind and friendly.
NOT WORTH THE TRIP
I always heard so many good things about this course and wanted to travel down to play. Perhaps my expectations were set too high as I was not impressed in the least and actually very disappointed.
The bunkers were dumps, little sand and or wet, unraked and not playable. The starter even advised me to drop out of bunkers.
They charged $10 for a medium size bag of range balls. The practice area is nice with several areas to hit from and a short game practice area.
The course apparently allows groups of 5 or 6 to play together. The group of 6 allowed me (a single) to play through but not without complaining. The group of 5 would not allow me to play through so I skipped the par 3 and went to next hole.
The restroom was very small and not well kept. For a tennis/golf resort you would expect a locker room.
Glad i played it but i will never travel down again to play it, nor recommend anyone to travel "just" to play it. If you are in the area it is worth playing once, but in no way is a destination golf course.
Great Mississippi Course
Course was great. Greens were in great shape for late November. Food is great. Staff and pro shop were top notch. Place of play needs work. I recommend this place if you are in the area.
Scottish Links style in Mississippi
If you are fan of Scottish links then you should definitely play River Bend Links. I played late November when all the grass is turning for the winter giving it a look of Scotland to the eye. Greens are a dark green that are covered with tarps during the night to keep them rolling smooth. They were rolling great fast and smooth. Definitely enjoyed the day there. Will definitely play here again when in the area.
Great
Greens fast and consistent. I haven't played this track much but every time I do I enjoy it.
