The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A
My first time playing this course, and my first time using Golf Now phone App. Caught a Hot Deal for $20 including cart for a 10:38 am Tee Time on a Wednesday. Course was very nice. Hilly with some tricky greens. I will go back if I get the chance.
Challenging course and a great value.
I was extremely impressed with the layout of the course. It's fun to play and has some tough holes thrown into keep it interesting. Even with the recent snow and rain, the course condition was surprisingly sound.
The staff was terrific from the pro shop to the cart barn. I'll be back!
could not play
Web site misleading. We traveled to Branson, but this golf course although listed with Branson, this course is located in another part of the Ozarks about 100 miles away. Please arrange to refund my advanced payment. We can play your course at a later time. Thank you
Great Experience!
My wife and I were in for a long weekend and played the course at a twilight rate. From dropping off the bags to end of the round, we were very happy with everything. The staff was overly friendly and saw the marshal numerous times during the round. This was nice because the pace of play was terrific. The course itself was in immaculate shape and the greens rolled true. Enjoyed the day and will put it on the list to play again.
Somewhat Challenging, but fun
It has been a few years since we have played this course and it was as I remembered, fun and challenging. Some tight fairways and ample sand. Water comes into play on some holes but are reachable and mostly all carry. This may have been our last day of beautifully warm weather and a nice day to play golf for the season. Will go back again when we visit The Lake of the Ozarks.
Hilly and Difficult
The course and amenities were very good, but the course was too difficult for an average golfer.
Definitely worth playing
The deal on Golfnow was exceptional value.
This is a scenic course with lots of terrain on well maintained grounds. The course is set in a high end residential area with beautifully landscaped yards. My wife kept pointing out the eye-catching flowers and grasses.
We had a wonderful day with play under 4 hours.
According to the assistant fall is "the best time to play."
EXCELLENT 9 HOLE GOLF COURSE
When I checked in at the pro shop, the greenskeeper indicated that this is one of the top 10 9 hole courses in the country. I totally believe it. It was challenging but not overly so, and the fairways were excellent. The greens on this course were some of the most truest I have ever putted on. If you hit your put on the line intended the ball rolled true. Totally enjoyed my round even though I started out hitting the ball badly. Would have played 18, but had to get to the outlet mall. Note: they also had something different with 2 pins on each green which if I had played 18 there would have been some different shots to the green using the other pins. Another way to do that is to rotate the tee blocks so that sometimes the white are in front of the blue and visa versa.
Good Challenge
Good course with lots of sand, water, trees and many elevation changes.
Ozarks
Course great Snack/bar closed at 3:00 pm which really is too early for late morning/after 12:00 T-times.
The Oaks
An older course that shows its age. The clubhouse dates to late 70's look and is worn and tired. Staff are awesome and attentive. Greens were excellent and fairways plush. The rough got way too rocky way too close to the first cut. Hate to tear up my equipment this way. Layout is challenging and will make you earn your birdies and pay with double sometimes. I'll be back due to cost and traditional environment
This course is absolutely beautiful
This is a challenging course, but not too difficult to make it a joy to play. The green's keeper does a great job keeping the course manicured. I've played here a few times over the years and it just keeps getting better. Tantara does a great job with this property. Play here if you plan a golfing vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks, you won't be sorry.
Tan Tara the Oaks
Course was not bad. But no water to drink, and no cart person. Pro shop was nice.
Excellent, challenging course
As with many of the courses at the Lake of the Ozarks accuracy is important. Fairways are not overly narrow, and the rough is playable, but tree-lined fairways and lots of poison ivy limit off target shots. Great fairways and greens are in perfect shape. Was not crowded and we were able to play at a good pace without waiting or being pushed. Only downside was limited food selection.
Impressive
Tough, but playable. Enjoyable afternoon of golf. Will play again.
Playing "The Oaks" at Tan-tara
The course is very lady-friendly. Had a great time.
Tan tar a oaks
Fun tricky...a course that makes you think about club selection. Well taken care of
Just Ok
Paid the taxes twice because the guy behind the counter didn't understand how the app worked.
Course is a Solid Test
The course is a solid test for all levels of golfers. While the course is no very long, it requires accurate tee shots and navigating elevation changes. The staff was friendly and the conditions are great. Will play again
Complete garbage
This course was probably good 30 years ago but it looks like it hasn't been touched since. Too many negatives to list but the main one is the $75 greens fee. Multiple irrigation lines leaking leaving standing water on the course and cart path. Not a bad layout and the greens were decent. Would only play again if the cost was about $25
