Pointe Royale in the Fall... Excellent!
First off, these comments are from a 85-90 stroke golfer. Pointe Royale is challenging in that you need to control your ball. Using a shorter, more controllable club is the answer for most of these holes. The fairways are somewhat narrow and several slope off to one side or another putting your drive off in the tall grass regardless of what you do.
It was the first of October and the course was in great shape. Sand was hard in some areas but in general was very playable. Greens were moderatlly sloped and presented a challenge on 1/3 of the holes.
I shot a high 90 but the day was not valued on the score. The scenery and views from the tees were worth the course difficulty. This is a 4-5 star course and the fall colors made it a GREAT DAY!
Enjoyable & Reasonable
Very challenging. One of the Top Courses in Branson.
This course is very up-and-down
This is a great course for the money you have to pay to play it
A pleasant round
A nice course, well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a good time with our golf partners and would play here again.
Nice course
This is a really nice course, not too long but plenty of challenges.
Good but...
I was informed at the pro shop upon checkin that the front 9 was being aerated, so we had to play the back 9 twice. They said GolfNow should have informed me of that.
It was a nice track, though. The bentgrass greens were a little bumpy from the "double" traffic.
Beautiful course
The front nine were closed for sanding so we played the back nine twice. Very well maintained, beautiful flowers throughout.
Restrooms were few and difficult to find.
Great choice
Excellent course for an exceptional experience. Go play!
point royale
the course was in great shape. the greens were really fast. course knowledge is very helpful. have at least 3 blind drives. I would play the course again next time I'm in Branson.
value
My wife and I played the course for a very fair price on golf now and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was great and the course was in good shape. We played in about 3hrs and enjoyed the course layout and condition. We will definitely visit again
Pointe Royale Branson, MO
We were in Branson for a long weekend, celebrating my birthday (which was our golf day, Sept. 22). I got a great web deal. The weather was perfect and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Enjoyable Round
Started right on time and pace of play was good (even with a 5-some in front of us). Lots of enjoyable holes. Never saw a straight putt all day.
Great value very nice course
We loved playing Pointe Royale. The staff was very friendly, the course in excellent condition and we will definitely play here again. The dramatic and consistent elevation changes made the course play about 500-700 yards longer. Front 9 very scenic. Back 9 winds through many apartment and condos so a little less surrounding beauty.
Only real negative was lack of practice facility. No driving range and a very small putting green.
Still, with the Golfnow discount, a very good deal on a very nice course.
Beautiful rolling terrain.
A fun and challenging course. Everyone on the staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. The fairways and greens are in good shape and the layout is challenging. A pleasure to play.
Nice little course
Short/tight course. In good shape, but slow pace. Signs were posted in several places that Marshall's would be on the course managing the pace. We never saw a marshal throughout the 18 holes.
Very good Hot Deal
Great hot deal. Challenging but fair course. Would play again.
great golf course
Pointe Royale is a beautiful course. This is the 2nd time we've played this summer. Gets a little tricky with so many houses close to the fairways, but who doesn't love a good challenge? That's what insurance is for!!! A couple of the greens needed a little work with patchy grass and dry areas, but other than that it was great. Love this course but wouldn't pay more than the $30 "hot deal" price.
Nice but could be better
This course was no better than one of the courses I play regularly at home, which is a shame considering the cost to play here and the fact that it is in a tourist-oriented city.
Wasnt in bad shape, per se, but one would expect a tourist course to be much better, and the lack of a practice range severely detracts from the value that is already lacking.
The course is in good shape and they stay on top of the tasks that need to be done.
It was a hot day and going to get hotter as the day progressed. I checked in early and they I could tee off as soon as I got ready. I asked them if they had drinking water on the course ,which they said about every fourth hole there was cold water and at the end of 9 there was the clubhouse. the course was in good shape and they was keeping a close eye on the greens to make sure they was ok. I enjoyed my outing that day and I would recommend this course to anybody.
Pointe Royal Review
This course is very demanding and not one that would be enjoyable walking. There are four holes with blind tee shots. Almost every hole is either up hill or down hill. The corse is well trapped and the traps are in good shape. Water comes into effect on several holes including a 220 yard carry on hole 5 and the 12th hole is a down hill 190 yard hole over water. Overall it was an enjoyable challenge.
