nice day in Branson
Lots of play, rangers keep things moving. Course winds through homes and condos, but they are not to close to fairways to be a problem. many elevation changes. greens in great shape.
beautiful diverse layout golf course
Love this course. Very pretty layout. Diverse holes , some shorter technical and other longer open holes. Excellent fairways and undulating greens will test your short game. Good value for nice course. Greens usually roll great. I'm scratch at home course, shot 74 here today from back tees. Had a blast, played with two young guys from St louis. They were excellent playing partners. Great day on the course.
The Experience
Yardage is short, but misleading do to uphill fairways, fairway tightness, greens hard to read,
sand traps & water place very well. Excellent opportunity to use all of your clubs and knowledge.
Excellent Experience!
great course
first time I played this course loved the GPS on the carts, loved the lay out will play again
Slow play
Slow pace for a Monday. Would hate to see what it was like on a weekend
Bad Manners!
Older man running the pro shop was incredibly rude when we checked in. It's really sad when people that work at a course forget to be polite to the customers. The course is not worth more than $40 until they educate the members on how to use a divot tool.
very challenging hillsides along fairways
Was surprised to be charged $15 to have my daughter ride with me
Branson Golf
Found 74 degree weather in Branson mid July for this round. Course is in really good condition and the staff was friendly. Lot if shot variety common to this area. Putting was consistent and the tee boxes were level. Good experience. Better than I expected for the locale. I will play it again in future visits.
Great Round
The course was well maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of facilities along the course. Only negative for an old guy like me who needs to warm up, there is no driving range.
If you are in Branson forget the "Resort Courses" and play Pointe Royale.
Great Value
Fast play, good course conditions. Recommend playing.
well organized and in good shape
The staff is very friendly and well organized. The 19th hole is nice and accommodating. The course lacks a driving range, but allows for chipping on the putting practice area. Speed of play was good and the marshall was friendly and often present. Many challenging holes. We will come back.
Fun course
Had enjoyable time. We played the white tees which was plenty challenging.
Interesting Course
First time playing course and it was it very nice shape. We found the greens to be a little inconsistent in speed, with lots of undulations. Bermuda rough is deep and can be difficult to find ball at times. Lots of bunkers, elevated tees and uphill shots to green. #9 and #18 are real bears if played from the black or blue tees, over water to an elevated narrow fairway. From the white tee, very short holes. Enjoyed the round and would play again if in the Branson area.
Got sucked into paying GolfNow rate of $39 after 3PM when the regular rate is $39. Live and learn!
Great Course
3rd year in a row to play Pointe Royale. We are "hack" golfers who have played many years but who do not play consistently. Literally, 1-3 times a year. Playing from whites, this course allowed us to play with our 70 year old dads and still enjoy everything. course was in great shape, staff was friendly. we used rental clubs. They were very average and that is the ONLY negative thing. Cart girl did not start coming around until the 7th or 8th hole. It was hot and muggy and would have liked to seen her by the 4th or 5th hole. Otherwise, we will continue to come to Pointe Royale each year.
The course needs to marshal golfers to play faster.
The pace of play was "way" too slow. After every shot, it was wait to hit while the groups in front of us "slowly" made their way.
Best deal in Branson
Only paid $39 for 18 holes so I was hesitant as to how conditions would be on the course. Upon arrival I was very impressed with the pro shop staff and other facility employees. All were very helpful and friendly. The pro shop was great and had some good deals. The course was in very good shape. The bent greens were as good as any I've played, fairways were groomed perfect, and rough was consistent on all holes. The bunkers were a little wet, but only due to torrential downpours the previous two days. The beverage cart did not run the afternoon we were there, but since it was forecast so hot we had already stocked up. The course was very enjoyable for my wife and I. It wasn't the longest course, but it was definitely a challenge with lots of narrow fairways, dog legs, water hazards and strategic traps. The only recommendation I would have for this course is a hole tip sheet. It's not just a course to go play blind because you need to know the misses or have a spotter to watch drives. Will play this course every trip to Branson now
Rolling "Prairies"
A great chance to practice all kinds of slant shots. Greens on front are fairly average. Thought the greens on the back nine were more challenging. Houses all along the course, but not a factor.
Great location, but...
The course winds through a resort housing area and the player must cross streets on a number of occasions to get from one hole to the next; kind of like the Gibraltar airport. This part of Missouri is really beautiful this time of year and this course is a great example of the fine courses in this area.
Following suggestions of the scorecard, I played the blue tees (7-14 handicap) at 5885 yards with a slope of 126 and a course rating of 68.1. I am 67 years old, a 10 handicap who typically carries my drive 220-230 yards. My home course is 6464 yards from the standard men's tees, a slope of 112, and course rating of 70.2.
The greens were very fast with nice contour and were difficult to hold. A number of greens on the front appeared to have just been aerated.
The fairways were well mown and had lots of contour. I hardly ever had a level lie. On one hole, from the middle of the fairway, I had a lie with the ball so far above my feet that I had to choke up on my 3-metal almost off the grip
I only recall one par 4 that did not have a blind tee shot. Many of the par 4's and par 5's began with a severe uphill tee shot. Thankfully, on this day, I was driving well and did not miss the fairway once. Had I done so, I do not doubt I would have had a number of lost balls.
There is some water on the course, but it really comes into play on 2 holes that I can remember. One was a downhill 175 yard par 3 with a pond in front of the green. The other was a 330 yard par 4 requiring a 200 yard carry off the tee over a pond with a large retaining wall on the far side, making a rather daunting visual image of the tee shot. This hole is the only one I can recall without a blind tee shot.
Luckily, it was a BEAUTIFUL day (upper 80's and enough humidity to be "sticky" but not unbearable). I carded an 87, but as the saying goes, "it was a great for golf, I just wish I had been having some." lol
No carts on fairways
The course was nice but could not take Carts on course so had to walk. Will not play this course again until carts are allowed on fairways.
Course and greens are great!
Fairways and greens were in great shape & rough was nice and tall. Made for a great round. Only problem was 5 groups playing scramble in front of us which made us take 3 hours to play the front nine. They finished after nine and we played the back nine unhindered. Great place to play regardless of the price, but the low price is a plus!
