Desert Gem
Great place to play. Staff was friendly and the course was excellent.
36 hole facility
We played both desert and lakes course and thought
pace, condition and layout were great. Would play here again.
Great course! Will be back
I've driven by this place so many times and never knew it was there. A beautiful example of how pretty desert golf courses can be. It was really windy yesterday, but all in all had a really fun round. Was supposed to be paired up with a 3-some but Lisa said I could go ahead and play by myself if I wanted to, so I did. 18 holes is around 3 1/2 hours, and I took my time. Course is in great shape, I felt like the speed of the greens was a little inconsistent but other than that no complaints. Some challenging holes without being ridiculous target golf. Some elevation changes that added a bit of difficulty. Strong winds made some holes play extremely long. Staff was very pleasant, and the facilities are nice. I will be back soon to try out the Lakes course!
Great value near LV
We always play here when visiting Las Vegas. Only 40 minutes from town and a much better deal than anything in Las Vegas. Greens had been aerated recently but not too bad. All other conditions were excellent. Lakes course is layed out nicely with a good mix of long and short holes, challenging but doesn't beat you up. Nice scenery, friendly staff. Couldn't beat the GolfNow rate of 26 at 10:20 am. We'll be back!
worth the ride
Course layout was great as was the condition. Mr. Fazio does it again.
always a great experience
It was a beautiful day, on an exceptional golf course. Great value on Golfnow. Always enjoy these courses, no throw away holes...each hole is extremely pleasing to the eye. A Tom Fazio trademark.
Disappointed
I come from a position of knowing the course from past experience, so my review is partially reflective of what the course used to be. But I think my observations are valid for what I experienced this time.
1. Greens - recently aerated and frustratingly SLOW AND BUMPY. Aeration is a necessary evil. But so is sanding, rolling, mowing and other follow up procedures.
2. Fairways - not recently aerated but too long for fairways. Get those mowers going!
3. Bunkers - not well maintained. A number of them have washed out faces, bases with insufficient sand, exposed pipes and underlying fabric, etc.
4. Rough - too lush around greens and just off fairways making for recovery shots that cannot be negotiated. This is the desert, not the U S Open
5. Practice area - very good
6. Cart service - one cart for a 36 hole facility on a 98 degree day is insufficient, especially if the courses are busy
7. Pro shop - staff is excellent. Merchandise prices are not.
8. Ranger - never saw one
Overall impression is that a potentially superb facility is slowing being eroded away due to management decisions to cut corners in maintenance and maximize profit in the Pro Shop.
Primm Valley Desert
Great value from GolfNow. Round was completed in less than 4 hours. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Greens were recently aerated but were still very playable. Some fairways were a little beat up.
Very good course, greens recently aerated.
Very good course, challenging holes. Lots of variety. Pretty tough for seniors. Impossible to putt well.this day due to condition of greens
Love The Layout
Beautiful layout. Can be challenging and long. Choose your appropriate tee box. Course maintenance is top notch. Could use a course ranger during busy times.
Great course
The course was very interesting and fun to play. The conditions were good and the staff was very friendly. The course is about 45 mins from the strip, but it is an easy drive and worth it for a great value. Would like to go back and play the Lakes course, which seems very different as the names of the courses tell the style. The course is in the middle of the desert so no homes or anything around besides desert and mountains. The only downside is that the views aren't as great as they could be because of a huge solar reflectors all over in the distance before the mountains. Otherwise would be amazing. The play was kind of slow, but I think it is also because I was a single for the first 7 holes, then a twosome after that. We played in 4 hours so it was fine, but it was on a Wednesday and after playing first 6 holes in 1 hour, was hoping for better.
One of The Top Five in the Area
I love this course! Friendly and helpful staff, great track and the course is always in great shape. Wherher I drive up from or stop when returning from California this is one of my favorites.
You should play this course .
Look for value here, it's worth the drive. Always enjoy playing at Primm.
It's a Must Do !!!!
Everytime I play the course I have a great time. The staff are great and try to help you in everyway. It's worth the drive.
no cancellation
When we got to the Prim Valley it started to rain and thunder nearby, we decided not to play for safety reason. When asked staff at pro-shop they told us we will have tp pay and play otherwise we wil get charged full amount for foursome.
We had no choice but to play, after first hole it started to rain and pour. after 5th hole we headed back to pro-shop soaking wet. Finally guy gave us 50% off the price we paid for future teetime, which we would probable not come back here again.
Another Excellent day in Primm
Living in Las Vegas it is easy to drive out to Primm to play golf at Primm Valley and the employees are very hospitable. Either of the golf courses will never disappoint you in their condition or playability. I like everything about Primm Valley and plan to play there many times in the years to come.
Fun course
Drove down from Vegas to play primm. Was lots of fun and a real nice play. Played both courses and had a very good playing experience. Well worth the trip to get there. Headed to Vegas to golf? Add this to your list and have fun
This course has great value
Great place always love coming here worth the the 30 minute drive great staff great course excellent value
great get away
The desert course has less groups so faster play. A great layout.
always nice
The course was in fine shape and it was as always a nice golf outing. The fairways and green in good condition. The Lakes layout is a great Fazio challenge.
