Primm Valley Golf Club - Lakes Course

About
The Lakes Course is one of two championship courses designed by Tom Fazio at Primm Valley Golf Club. It was the club's original layout before it was joined by the Desert Course a year later. As its name would imply, the Lakes Course features an intricate system of lakes and rivers weaving through the layout and coming into play on 11 holes. The layout is challenging but playable with elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers that are balanced by large greens and wide, player-friendly fairways. One of the golf course's most memorable holes is the par-5 second. This challenging 530-yard hole plays around a massive lake but with an accurate second shot, it is reachable in two. There is also water the left of the green and a bunker in front.

Hello MGM - THIS is the way to ruin your investment!
What was a gem of two courses way out in Primm, has been reduced to a dog-track cow-patch!
NO ONE was playing there the day I went. SIX golfers were signed up.
They sent us out on the back because of "maintainance" yet there were worked all over every hole, it seems, blind and unconcerned that paying golfers were there.
It may be time to expand that solar farm behind these courses and take over this wasted destroyed golf venue!
Playable but a little rough
The T boxes were in pretty good shape. Several fairways were missing grass in spots and just had sand in these spots. The greens had sand on them as it is apparent they are trying to get this. Course back up to snuff.
We paid 50 bucks and considering the drive and the course condition it will not be my first choice to play at this price
Disappointed
I have played this course several times over the last 12 years, but the last time before this was in 2017. But this year the greens were in bad shape and most of the pines trees have died that made this such a beautiful course.. I don’t know what happened but the course is no longer being kept up to the standards before.
Not the best.
Greens are in terrible shape! They have lost the greens which are mostly sand and dirt.
Horrible condition
Greens very bumpy. A lot of burned fairways. Beautiful layout. Played lakes 15 times over 12 years. Never had worse greens
Primm Valley - Lakes
The Primm Valley Lakes course staff was great. My buddy and I were greeted warmly and the staff in the pro shop were also great. The fairways on the Lakes course were in pretty good condition. The greens were very spotty, looking diseased in spots. Looking over at the Desert course, it looked like the fairways were in pretty bad shape.
Atrocious Greens
I’ve played the Lakes course countless times. I’ve never seen the greens in such poor condition. I will not play it again until the greens are improved. Perhaps the Desert course is in better condition.
Bad Greens on Windy Day
Course being next to the freeway, makes it very dusty when the wind blows. Although paid $44, there was a reason for it, bad greens.
Also, the restaurant is horrible, don't eat at the restaurant. There is no service. One server that is catering to the whole clubhouse!!
Terrible greens
Punched and sand....probably 50% of your score won't be very good. No mention of bad greens on website.
Greens unplayable
I was moved from lakes course to desert course .
It’s obvious there has been a problem with the greens on both courses . Greens on desert course were unplayable. Sanded and areas without grass due to fungus. Even parts of the fairways are in tough shape . The entire course is beat up and run down . It has enormous potential but has not been maintained to even a resins le standard. No staff told me it was in rough shape , nor did they offer a discounted rate. It had months of work needed to bring it back. I wouldn’t go back.
Greens need a lot of work
Greens were in horrible condition. Course could be nice but it hasn't been taken care of.
Management Challenged
Since the course changed hands we have noticed a down turn overall, This time the greens were just flat out terrible, even the starter said that. The fairways were in nice shape.
They are working on it
I've been playing for years here everytime I go from CA to Vegas. 4 months ago (June '22) I was warned about the greens after reading reviews but tried anyway. Tee to green was fine for the price. The greens were terrible as I was warned. HOWEVER, they are working on it. June greens got a score of 1 out of 10. I've never seen worse on an open golf course. Fast forward 4 months to October and the greens scored a 3.5. Still the worst I've ever seen except when compared to June. I'm betting by the holidays of '22 the score will reach 5 or 6. Time will tell. If you want to practice tee to green it's a great value vs. prices in Vegas. Bali Hai prime time was $450. No thanks. Hopefully by Spring of '23 it will be restored. This is for the Lakes. The Desert is well behind. I'm not sure that one will have a greens score of over 3 until next year. Too bad because I enjoy playing 36 in a day. 18 holes on each. :-)
Beware terrible greens
Played the Lakes course on Thursday the course was empty so pace of play was great. Staff were friendly and helpful got us out early. Most of the fairways are well laid out and were lush and green, but the greens are terrible. Patchy with thick sand so putting was like playing plinko . The course should let folks know when booking how bad there greens are.
