Worth the drive
Worth the drive from Vegas Closer than Mesquite and it costs less. . Played the Lakes on 3/30/15. Good mix of holes. Great hazard locations. Typically, the reward for trying to carry the fairway hazards is a better line for the approach shot. Plenty of fairway if you chose not to take on the hazards. Had a few unfair pin placements on this day, especially #12. II would rank this tied at #5 with Mountain Falls for Vegas area courses I have played. I like this lay-out better, but felt Mountain Falls was in better shape. Looking forward to playing the Desert.
Great
Great course , great challage . Would recommend this course to anybody .
Just play it.
Lots of fun. memorable holes very good conditions.
lots of endulation
Tough course for a 20 handicap. No level lies and everything' slopes somewhere. Other tee boxes in view. 18 tee a little dangerous. Friendly staff and great experirience. Bring extra balls.
Good layout. Good to play
Friendly staffs. Layout of the course is good. Green maintenance is good.
Slow play
There were several college teams at the course preparing for a match the following day so play was very slow. Some of the college groups was 5 somes walking the course so it was hit and wait all afternoon.
Best value in Vegas
A very challenging but fair course. A great place to play on your way to Vegas. Well maintained and friendly staff.
VERY NICE DESERT COURSE
very nice desert course
elevation tees
desert course but lakes also
some holes very challenging
a true desert course
Decent Conditions for Time of Year
This course played a little easier/shorter then its sister desert course. Water does come into play on several holes and that does increase the difficulty. Moderately Long and Accurate players will find at least a couple drive-able Par 4's, and depending on the Wind all the Par 5's are probably go for in 2. The Conditions were decent for the time of year, there of course are lots of dormant areas around bunkers where they didn't overseed, but generally everything was very playable.
golf at prim valley golf course
Was not to impressed with the course, desert condition was poor. The lakes course is in much better shape
Great value with Golfnow rate
Had fun! Fairway somewhat spotty. Will get better with warmer weather. Worth a drive from Las Vegas.
Great layout
Great layout. Tough greens. Challenging approach shots to avoid the traps and be on the correct tier of the green. Very fair challenging course.
California Desert Course
Long drive from Vegas. Course was in very poor condition compared to the other 6 I played that week. We had a late start because of a frost delay but the staff was friendly and helpful. Huge chipping and driving range and super small putting green for 2 courses. Fairways were in terrible shape, greens were so hard you couldn't even leave a pitch mark. It was not worth the drive for me, or the $85 for the green fee. Good elevation changes throughout the course. The course was difficult from the tips, and the layout was great, the only issue was the bad condition.
Great Course
Great Course! Pace of play was great, course in great conditon
This Course is Challenging
Really enjoyed my round. The Fazio design featured a plethora of fairway and greeside bunkers which were intimidating to the eye but rarely came into play. The fairways were pretty sparse for a resort course and bare tight lies were the norm throughout the round. With better grounds management, this could be a 5 star tract. Some holes are simply breathtaking and challenging to play. The hot deal green fee was a great bargain. I would not pay walk in rate because of course condition. The practice facility was superb, especially the short game range. The clubhouse was awesome and we had excellent breakfast.
I would highly recommend Primm for fun day of golf if you can get a deal. Try to avoid a windy day.
good value
The layout of the Lake course is very nice. The maintenance of the ground is good comparing to some others at the same price range. The sand in the bunkers can be more.
Picturesque, Interesting Holes/Layout
My favorite of the two courses here. The course was in great shape, and we only saw one other group on the course the whole time playing in the afternoon. The last four finishing holes are probably the most interesting/picturesque. Very interesting greenside multi-level bunkering. Well worth the drive for a great deal on GolfNow.
Great course, prefer Desert however
Great course, nice layout, and worth the drive from Vegas for some good golf, especially with great last minute deals from GolfNow. We played the Lakes in the morning and Desert in the afternoon. Seemed like the Lakes was the more popular course that day, as it was booked more. The pace (Monday morning) was great with a 4-hr round and no waiting on any tee. Course conditions were very good. Overall, I would choose the Desert Course, however, as I preferred the layout and we only saw one other group besides us on the whole course the whole afternoon.
Primm is the BEST the best course for all skill ranges
The Lakes course at Primm is my favorite course in Vegas. It's 45 minutes outside of the city. It takes me 70 minutes EACH way to drive to this course from the north end. I still do it as often as I can. This course is so pretty and built in such a way that you FORGET you are in the middle of a desert basin and next to the worlds largest solar farm. Lots of water hazards and trees to make life difficult if you hit a VERY errant shot. However, If are intermediate or above...they only come into play if you choose the high risk/reward shot. I've never been to the course where the course was in bad shape. Yes, you have the errant mower blade on a fairway or green every now and then....but that is golf and i won't fault humans for mistakes. Bunkers can be tricky here. the lips are big and have caused me a headache a time or two. Greens are greens are challenging but fun. they are fairly easy to read which makes life better for us players learning as we go.
I live 20 minutes from Paiute, 10 from silverstone, 5 from aliante....and I make this drive every chance I can. The staff there are so friendly. I almost didn't want to write a good review so I can keep this place to myself! lol
Pleasing round of golf
The staff was very friendly and the course was fun to play.
