Good Course...Horrible Carts
The Hills course was in good shape for this time of year. The course was setup well and challenging for a veteran golfer, but not unforgiving (lot's of "Member Bounces"). The issue I had was with the Carts. They are computer controlled. and are OVERLY cautious. They adjust speed too much, the screens are horrible. The GPS doesn't work correctly, and throws tons of warnings. It told me I needed to be back on the cart path and it slowed me to a crawl (literally), however, I was ON the cart path.. This needs to be resolved! The Greens had just been punched, but barely effected the putting rolls.
Too slow pace
Players in front of us were hitting 2 and three balls holding us up to end up with a almost 5.5 hours round. Marshals passed by many times and didn’t address the group hiding many balls.
Course is not greened up yet, still playing like winter golf and greens were quite rough. Driving range is sub-par with the carpet you’re supposed to hit your irons on. Best restaurant and bar of any public course in Reno area.
Windy condition Fast Greens
Did I say WInd oh yea. 3 put were common as the wind was blowing. I would love to play this in less wind.
Good layout
Course was a little brown recovering from winter, but the fairways and greens were in good shape. Fast greens.
The starter forgot about me and I started 30 minutes from my tee time not very professional
The course was scoreable!
The pace of play was a draw back. There were several holes with two or three groups waiting around the tee box. Hole 18's fairway was severely sloped toward the water. I drove the ball right down the middle of the fairway and it ended up 2 feet from the water. Other than that, the course was set up to score well.
Great
Even in the beginning of the season the course was in great shape.
Rude staff
Not worth it, so many better courses in Reno without rude staff.
