18th Holes with Clubhouse, Crotched Mountain Photo submitted by GolfMentor on 07/14/2014
NH Mountain Golf
Course is beautiful and the view is outstanding. The staff is very friendly. Worked me in as a single on a Monday when there was a Sr men's golf league.
Overall the course is showing some age but the layout is very demanding. Was surprised at the limited amount of cart paths.
I did not book through a discount golf service so I thought it was pricey for the course conditions.
Would play again but would look for a discount fee.
Hot day- great price
We found a great price on golf advisor for 18/person with a cart! It's a long drive but a fun course to play- you will need a cart I walk all the time. This course is not walkable. It's quirkie with small greens and small canted fairways. Play to the 150 markers from the tee. Play the whites for fun blues if you're under a 12 cap. Since it's a mountain course we did find some winter damage but it should be great by the fall.
on top of the world, or on top of the mountain
1st time playing here, didn't know what to expect, but was open to anything. and boy did i get that.
went alone and was ready to tee off, and older couple rolled up, asked them if i could join, and they agreed, good thing i did, they were members there and he gave me a few pointers where to hit it.
glad i rode because extremely hilly, but was fun to play, didn't play well, lost a bunch of balls, but couldn't
hit my driver. will go back just to redeem myself, and hit less than driver on a few holes, very tight course, but i will be back if i see another great deal from golfnow. Better to ride than walk, could not see doing that though.
beautiful par 3's
always fun, good mix of length and scoring ops.par 3's are outstanding!
Will Play Again
Great course, greens were well maintained. Enjoyed my round will be back again
The course was very picturesque.
The fairways were in great shape. The greens were a little beat because of winter kill. This was to be expected because of the bad winter. Ball washers on the course we're all devoid of water?! Fairways were a challenge because of the tight tree line and sloping terrain on se holes. Traps appeared to have several small rocks. We enjoyed playing at this course and we plan on making return visits.
Great Course
Have played here before course is always in good shape one of the better courses in the area for the time of year. Challenging layout for all skill levels. Would definitely play this course again.
Early season conditions
It's a beautiful course, but the conditions are terrible right now. The greens and fairways are full of brown patches, the sandtraps were uneven and in awful condition.
The course conditions do not allow for any shots that are less than perfect. If you miss your target by a few yards, your ball will likely end up out of play.
Fun hilly layout
Course offers several interesting holes. Three of the par 3s are from elevated tees making club selection a fun challenge. Green are in excellent shape, run true. Several with challenging slopes to test your green reading ability. Overall had a great day golfing.
This course was fun to play.
The course is short in length but some holes play longer when you are playing uphill. You need to be straight off the tee on most holes due to the slope on most fairways. Be below most pins or you will be three putting. Will definitely play this course again
great course
They do a great job trying to make the course better than it was the day before!
Golfnow is a great deal.
You can't beat this deal for this course. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The course is very well kept. I would recommend this course to all my friends without a doubt.
Spectacular Views
First time here. 2 hrs to get here and worth it for the $$$$$$, will come again. Drove 47 miles out of my way on the way to Canada after seeing it on GolfNow.
Place was empty, I was one of only 17 golfer that day, Tuesday. Couldnt ask for a better day or better views. Greens were good, fariways in great shape, no complaints. Although the matainace stuff could use a crash course in manners. Not the friendliest of people on such a fine day.
I will come again for sure.
Greens in excellent shape, great mountain views!
Greens in excellent shape, great mountain views! Will probably be spectacular in a couple weeks when the leaves start turning color although finding your ball will be even more difficult. Many severely sloped fairways, rough and layout in general. Often don't hit driver or 3 wood off the tee. Many blind shots. Pro suggested I play from the white tees even though I am a 7 handicap and I am glad I listened to him. I shot 84 with a few lost balls because I didn't realize how severe the slope of the hole was beforehand. Good value and I played 18 holes in 2 and 1/2 hours! Good buffalo chicken sandwich in the tavern after the round.
Getting worse by the day
Been playing here most of the year. Conditions continue to get worse. No structure on tee times and never a ranger. The golf staff are unfriendly and honestly the the club pro and his assistant are punks.
Mountain vistas
Beautiful, difficult, interesting mountain course. Drove 55 minutes, well worth the drive.
Fun Day despite hard to get to
Course conditions ok, tees uneven and long grass. Pace of play slowed due to foursome not allowing groups to play thru. Ranger came out on first hole to tell us cart path only but never spoke to slow group holding everyone up. Fun different layout which allowed for a great match. Par 3's very scenic and a fair challenge.
Enjoyable round
Interesting course to play for the first time - there Were some blind shots and all of the par threes have dramatic elevation changes. I thought the scenery was better on the back nine. I thought 14 was a interesting hole to play the second shot. I plan to return.
Hidden Gem
This course has the best greens in southern NH. It is a shorter course but very challenging. Course management is a must here! The overall course us in great shape and I played 18 in just under 3 hours on a Tuesday morning. A must play if you are in the area.
OK, but terrible drainage
No Marshalls, so no policing of slow play. Greens pretty good, but spoilt by some weedy bunkers and unkept (natural?) second cut. Average shots are punished unnecessarily. A cheap practice round.
