2nd shot on par 5 scenic hole on back 9. Photo submitted by MONH1 on 05/12/2015
Another good round!
Been here several times, always enjoyable for us average golfers .
Not 4 Stars
We chose this course for a final round of golf during our stay in the White Mountains. The course was in terrible conditions, with huge patches of dirt in the fairway. The greens were relatively fast where grass was growing, but many bald spots. The course is short and has some interesting holes, especially on the back nine, but many fairways are very close side by side and bland. I find it hard to believe that the course was actually rated four stars. I guess some folks have very low standards.
What a douche
Got to my tee time after driving 2 and a half hours from my hotel and was 10 minutes late Quaker oats wouldn't let me go out. Thanks alot you guys are awesome
Poor
We were turned away by your staff and did not play. We did not have golf clubs for everyone in our group and they refused to allow us to play our reservation. Do not charge us for our time. We were there 30 minutes early and refused us.
Wentworth, Jackson NH
A shirt, friendly & quirky course. It is walkable & popular with seniors. The old front 10 (yes, 10) is easier, sorter & stranger than the last 8 holes.
Holes 14-15-16 are interesting. 14 is 150! & severely uphill. 15 is a long par 5, hitting from an elevated tee to a landing area bisected by a stream. Then it’s a rugged uphill the green. 16 is par 3 target golf, hitting from an extremely elevated tee to a green guarded by wetlands. Course conditions are mediocre a best. Damaged greens & burnt out patches on fairways
Nice course, simple layout, beautiful vistas.
Course is not long, mostly flat and open. Nice course to walk, even though it sits tucked in the White Mountains. Enough hazards (sand, water) to punish wayward shots, but forgiving as well. Greens were recently aeriated, but are normally in decent shape even if a bit slow.
The views are beautiful, plus you have to walk over the Ellis River via the covered bridge.to get from #3 green to #4 tee.
Saturday afternoo.n Javksom NH
But on a Saturday afternoon as a single Pace was good on most of the round played the last four holes with another single who caught up to me when things slow down in front of us. Cost was overall in good shape but the greens had just been aerated so they were pretty tough. The course is fairly short with a number of pi for boys that are 275 to 310 yards and fairly open around . The back nine has four or five holes that are pretty hilly and much different than the front nine enjoyable course reasonable rates
Aeration recently, heavy sanding
Not worth full rate with the heavy aeration and sand. It is necessary but the lack of information on the condition made this hot deal a hot mess.
Nice course with nice views.
Relatively short, but a nice course layout. Good views or surrounding hills and mountains. Course was in good condition even though weather had been very hot and dry. Friendly staff and clientele.
July Golf in Jackson NH
Had a beautiful day at WENTWORTH. Staff was great and the course was on great shape. Will be back.
Meh
We got to the course at 730 and a kind old man took our clubs and loaded them on to our cart which was super cool. The course itself is very meh.. Not very challenging, Pace of play would be my biggest complaint we were stuck in front of a twosome in which we got stuck behind. We golfed 18 holes in roughly 3 hours but could have been easily 2 1/2 at our skill of play.. The course was in rough shape we had rain in the region and the back nine was completely flooded . Overall this is a course where you if you want to get out to play it’s fine. But overall very short par 4’s (300- 325)
