About Crystal Springs Resort
Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Nice 9-hole course
Played on New Yr's Eve for a quick 9-hole round on a 50-degree day. Course was in excellent condition for the time of year; greens were slow as expected, since they haven't been cut or mowed for a while. Pace of play was a bit slow but that was due to folks wanting to take advantage of the warm day.
Coarse closed due to weather and I didn't get a refund
Happy New Year!
Finally able to get out after some late December snow. Thought for sure there would be a frost delay but it turned out fine. Sent out with another friendly golfer and we had a great time. Temps warmed up and we moved pretty quickly - finished in slightly under 4 hrs. Conditions were fine for late December. A bit wet on the course (cart path only) and the greens were fuzzy and slow - to be expected. Overall I had a great time.
Class of NJ Golf Courses
We literally were the last players to get out, snow started around hole 3. Point is the course is always amazing complimenting that is the amazing staff. If my last round of 24 was at Crystal Springs I can honestly say it was the best ending I could have hoped for. Thank you class act crystal/Black Bear course's and staff
Excellent course, do not walk
Made the mistake of using my trolley today. Never again. Holes are far too far apart and up/down lots of hills. You absolutely need a cart to get round here. Fantastic course and in great condition considering it’s the 3rd week of December.
Global warming ROCKS
All I can say is in years past we could never play an amazing course like Black Bear 🐻. Now December in NJ can be in the 50s. Seriously one of the best courses you will ever play, classy all the way..
Beautiful view
While the course had a beautiful view it was somewhat confusing as it seemed there was more signage for soccer golf than the holes.
Either way, beautiful view!
The corse is bad
It was lot of snow last weekend.
So bad condition.
They must closed golf course.
I waste time & money
Black Bear is a very nice course
The course is friendly and challenging for a good blend
The staff is friendly and accommodating.
Poor Service and slow play
Bag drop guy was rude and completely unhelpful....
One of the carts for our foursome had a GPS that didn't work at all; the other had one that worked for the first 5 holes then crapped out...
The group in front of us was a threesome to start and after 13 holes turned into a twosome. Even with them being a threesome and then a twosome, we waited on EVERY SINGLE TEE BOX except 18. On multiple tee boxes we were waiting with the group in front of use while the group behind us was rolling up to us. The round took just under 5 hours, on a MONDAY.
The course layout is gorgeous and fun and was in decent shape. Other than that, everything about the experience was bad.
