Crystal Springs Resort is a 4,000-acre playground located only an hour across the New Jersey state line from New York City. It is one of the country’s largest golf resorts with six courses - Ballyowen, Black Bear, Cascades, Crystal Springs, Minerals and Wild Turkey – and three driving ranges. The Grand Cascades Lodge houses 220 guest rooms with an inspired welcome: An outdoor putting course leading to an indoor lobby with high ceilings, wood beams and a stone fireplace. Both it and the 175-room Minerals Hotel feature their own spas and pools. Children will love the Biosphere, an indoor pool complex with an aquarium, vortex pool and caves, 140-foot waterslide and café, all in a tropical theme. Twelve restaurants are spread out among the course clubhouses and hotels, delivering a variety of menus and price points. Between the Mineral Sports Club and Adventure Center, there’s always a new activity or program to enjoy.Facts

Crystal springs enjoyer
First time here. Early in the season so I won’t complain about aerated greens. They gotta do it at some point. Course was fun, challenging, nicely laid out. Starter on that specific Day was very friendly and fun. We teed of at 1:00 on Saturday 4/19 so whoever was working there was good. Would like to play again. Place was great. I’d like to say anyone complaining probably plays in cargo and is untucked.
Really expensive
The course is fine and enjoyable but boy is it overpriced now. I paid $110 in 2024 and it looks like the current rates are close to $200. I would never play here for anything over $120. It’s so far away in the middle of nowhere, that plus the high greens fee make this a pass going forward unless the prices come back to earth. There are so many other courses in jersey for less with equal quality golf if not better.
Replay
Told over the phone days prior we would be able to replay Cascadses after finishing. We were again told at the course we could replay upon completion by the front desk and starter. Once we finished, the same staff member told us there was no possible way for us to replay and they were booked for the day all week. Unsure why they told us we could replay if they knew they were fully booked.
Aerated greens
There was never a mention beforehand about the just aerated greens. Not by GN nor by anyone at the course!!!
Early Season golf
I’ve allows enjoyed BB. First started playing there 12 yrs ago. Like the course challenges & layout. This offered a few more. The greens were very rough having been aerated recently. To be expected at this time of the year. The sand traps are very rough & not playable. Hopefully they will get the attention needed to bring this course to the next level of quality golf for the money & enjoyment.
All said, it’s allow pleasant going back to where I started to map out my improvement.
Sunny day but all of sudden chilly air
It was good time to come back this beautiful golf course.
It was beginning of the season, so greens were so slow and fairways were still golden grass was everywhere.
I still couldn’t believe they charged tremendous money for golfing but I had to share the golf cart with a person whom I met at the course.
I will better look other golf courses for reasonable price.
Even though I booked to pay less money on Tee off, but I don’t want to come back here alone.
After 9 holes it was heavy rain, I asked to get the rain check at the pro shop. They asked me to do on Web for rain check. Thankfully, Tee off gave me some credit for rain check.
Hopefully they cut down the golf fee in the future, so I am eager to come this course more often.
Great course in a beautiful setting
First time palying the course, understandably due to the time of the year the sorrounding trees were still gray leaved and quite bare. None the less its a beautiful area, the course was in good shape, the greens are at a good speed. Hopefully will play again in its prime time of the year.
Second round of the year
For mid March this place was in great shape. Greens were a little slow but other than that we’re in great shape. Pace of play was great too. Finished in a little over two hours. Probably my favorite 9 hole course in New Jersey.
Crystal Springs
5 1/2 hour round.
$25 for a drink and $15 for a hot dog
Sand traps were off limits, have not been raked of rocks.
I understand it’s the beginning of season, than offer. Discount or let people know when reservation is made
Staff was very friendly.
