About Mountain Creek Resort
Mountain Creek Resort is a four-season destination in Vernon, N.J., just an hour outside of New York City. It features a waterpark; the 27-hole Great Gorge course, which was purchased in 2018; the Treescape Aerial Adventure Park, home to zip-lining, climbing obstacles and rope walks; and a Bike Park of 52 trails that is loaded with jumps and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The course was part of the old Playboy Club in the 1970s and 1980s, attracting famous names such as Dean Martin and Bob Hope for a game. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful mountain views and elevation changes. Guests can stay in the Appalachian hotel or enjoy more space and privacy in a one- to three-bedroom townhome rental at Black Creek Sanctuary. Both accommodations offer outdoor pool and hot tub facilities.Facts

Fun
Only second time playing the course and it certainly makes you be accurate on all your shots. Pace was a little bit slow, but we were a twosome playing behind a foursome so it was expected. Seemed like it might have been a “big money” match LOL. It was good and we got a Hotdeal which made the price $20 per guy and that’s a great price.
good to play on a slow weekday?
Greens are fun but the course has water issues and the place i guess is know for double booking through their web site and golf now...
Very slow pace of play for the afternoon
Decided to do a 3pm tee time instead of an early morning one. This was a mistake. Ended up being a 5 hour round. Were tons of beginners out there taking 3 and 4 shots every time. Dress code was also not enforced were plenty of guys wearing jeans and t-shirts. At no time did staff attempt to move the pace of play along. Will never book in the afternoon again.
Great time great gorge
Awesome time - played all 27 but each set of 9 had very cool differences that made it challenging while seeming to be totally different courses until the final 1-2 holes bring you back to the middle of the property as you get closer to the club house

Course was in good condition, but somehow they ran out of carts so our tee time was a half hour delayed. Front was slow, back a little better. Overall good day.

The course was in great shape and fast greens.
Played with my son and we had a great day, can’t wait to play it again.
Great value. Even better course
One of the best layouts in the area. It’s a very challenging course that emphasizes hitting fairways but doesn’t kill your if you don’t. This is my second time playing here and I’ve enjoyed every single round. Fairways are well kept and greens are fast. Definitely one of the hidden gems in north jersey.
