Mountain Creek Resort
About Mountain Creek Resort
Mountain Creek Resort is a four-season destination in Vernon, N.J., just an hour outside of New York City. It features a waterpark; the 27-hole Great Gorge course, which was purchased in 2018; the Treescape Aerial Adventure Park, home to zip-lining, climbing obstacles and rope walks; and a Bike Park of 52 trails that is loaded with jumps and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The course was part of the old Playboy Club in the 1970s and 1980s, attracting famous names such as Dean Martin and Bob Hope for a game. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful mountain views and elevation changes. Guests can stay in the Appalachian hotel or enjoy more space and privacy in a one- to three-bedroom townhome rental at Black Creek Sanctuary. Both accommodations offer outdoor pool and hot tub facilities.Facts

Very good condition
The pace of play was excellent playing 18 holes in 4 hrs. Course was in good shape with some dead spots on the fairways. Greens were excellent.
great gorge - great condition
enjoyed our round at great gorge - course was in great condition; layout challenging
Great course with awesome views
We had a great twilight round! The course was in excellent condition and the views are awesome at this course. Started the round with a fantastic bacon burger from the restaurant! Also the staff is great, including Dan who really knows the ins and outs of the course! Highly recommended.
Beautiful Greens
I played Great Gorge since when I first started playing about 25 years ago and when this course was owned by Crystal Springs management, I stopped coming here. Felt that they ruined this course to make Crystal Springs resort more playable. Played Great Gorge for the first time in about 4 years and all I can say is WOW!!!
The new owners really know what they are doing here. Excellent greens and very good condition fairways. I remembered the fairways always being wet here and the balls plugged. Not anymore. At least not today.
People complaining that the bunkers needed more sand should realize that the bunkers are hazards and need skills to get out from. Some courses have too much sand and some courses like Great Gorge has too little. One of my playing partner complained that the bunkers were too firm with no sand, but the other playing partner holed out from one of the bunker and loved it.
I will be back within a month and hopefully the conditions will be the same.
Well done Great Gorge.
Beautiful Course with Beautiful Views!
The course was well taken care o and beautiful views!
Great
The best staff I’ve ever encountered. The course was in excellent condition. I’m an average golfer so it’s challenging but you still get scoring opportunities too.
Great course and price
This golf course is just getting better and better.
Lake and rail courses is top and well managed.
All staffs are kind enough to be feeling warm and especially the manager(brandon) is accurate and very kind to players.
I’ve been playing 4 times in a raw for past Month and can’t beat this golf course deals.
Tough long course
Course in great shape great price worth every penny just don’t expect to score low very long and difficult but the scenery his spectacular
Best bang for your buck
It’s the best bang
For the buck I live up in northern jersey closer to the city and drive an hour away cause there is always good times available
Hot summer afternoon with good course condition and nice pace
Great Gorge is coming back to the elite condition that every one remember after Pandemic. The green is challenged and hard to control the speed of putt. The layout is always interested.
Awesome
I love this course. With 3 nine holes one is shut per week helping keep this place so nice. Difficult to get a tee time sometimes but if you get the chance play it!
Great golfing condition.
Two negatives: traps need more sand; players need to repair their ball divot on green plus one other.
Mountain Creek Golf
Course is vey nice, three nine hole options. The day we went it was supposed to rain which it did but we were able to complete 19 holes. There isn’t much amenities there and when we went there were no beverage cart out. On the turn the staff offered us a bottle of water which was nice.
