LBI NATIONAL
first time there in many years since name change
They seem to have issues with fungus on many greens
The course layout was very challenging and I would return in the future
Fun day
The course is pretty, personally, the price to play is not justified.
The greens definitely need work. The tees for the ladies also need improvement.
LBI National
The greens are stressed. Much worse than when I played there 4 weeks ago.
The fairways and rough are in good shape, except for some of the around the green areas.
I played the front 9 only.
do not play!
I agree completely with this review from 8/11/25: "Lots of bare spots on greens and around greens! Sand on the greens as well. Worst conditions I’ve ever seen at LBI." It was so bad vs. the price that I likely won't ever play this course again. It's bordering on fraud for them to charge what they're charging (over $100 in the AM) without a posting about the conditions of the greens. To take this kind of money from people with a smile and then turn them out to a course that a $30 municipal would be ashamed of made me feel like I was robbed. Do not play.
Long day
Played late afternoon and it was the least enjoyable round of the year. Course was beat up late in the day but that didn’t bother us. Slow play and waiting on every shot is torture. We saw a ranger on 3 and that was it. Inexcusable not to have rangers making sure people are keeping up with the group in front.
Conditions of course
Lots of bare spots on greens and around greens! Sand on the greens as well. Worst conditions I’ve ever seen at LBI.
Plays Great
If you can look past imperfections and your a true golfer it's agreat track. Was given a 15% discount by the counter guy because he said it wasn't up to their standards because of some summer stress issues.. I don't' see that often..
Nice layout. Greens in bad shape
Took 5 hours and 15 minutes to finish. 1 hole had 3 groups on the tee box. Not a good time!
Disappointed
Disappointed in the course conditions considering the price.
Conditions
Shocked how poor the conditions were at LBI National based on the price.
Not worth the Money
Course is fine, but not worth the money. In addition to the hot weather taking a toll on the course’s overall condition, the course is not being cared for properly. The bunkers are horrendous with weeds, mud, pebbles, etc. Embarrassing. Tee boxes are a joke. I am finding a lot of these so-called great courses down here in south Jersey are now just average due to neglect. The demand to play is there, so I suppose there is less incentive to maintain the courses to higher standard.
solid course
very friendly staff, some of the other players had no concept of pace of play, played in 5:30. constant drizzle the whole time, a little wet, some edges of the greens were rough. really good layout and views. would play it again.
Always love the layout here and clubhouse is second to none, but greens were in horrible condition. A lot of the tee boxes were beat up. Frairways were ok. I will wait until next ear to play again and hope it is in better shape.
Terrible condition, great layout
Many greens had multiple spots with no grass. Tee boxes in terrible shape. For $120 I would never play this course again for that price. It’s a shame because it has a great layout hole by hole, but they need to take care of the course better. Almost went into the pro shop after the round to say something, but decided it wouldn’t lead to anything. Call ahead and ask about the greens and tee boxes before you book!!
Exceeded my expectations
This was my first time playing with the help of the Hot Deal. The course had many great views from the tee box. The fairways were not too tight but layout kept you on your toes with the sand traps, unexpected water on a few holes, and dogwood left/right turns. I loved the smooth greens which helped to helped my putts roll more smooth than ever.
I’ll definitely throw this course into the mix during me next stay when Im at the Marriott Fairway Villas.
