Excellent in all facets
We played Angel Fire yesterday. The course was in excellent condition including greens which were fast but good. Nice layout. Great par 3 from a very elevated tee box. Staff was excellent in the pro shop and restaurant. and shout out to the Marshall who gave us an alternate way back to Taos to avoid the construction. We played in 3 hours and 45 minutes and were following at least 2 groups.
Pace of play
Pace of play is always an issue here… members think they can play as slow as they want and the marshals only bother to say things to younger players that they don’t know about playing faster in my experience. Happens every time.
Beautiful Angel Fire
The Angel Fire Resort course has many beautiful views and enough challenges for all players. The course is in very good shape. I was lucky enough to play with a charter member who graciously gave advice on where to land, etc.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. In August, the weather was perfect.
Only course in the area and they know it
A nice golf course. Has some bunkers and some streams that come in to play some very picturesque and challenging holes but at the cost of $102 per person to play it it’s not really worth it. However, it’s the only course in the area so if you want to play golf you got to pay, if you can drive an hour over to Taos, I’d recommend the Taos country club over this one.
Angel fire does offer free practice including range balls, so you can partially justify the higher price

Staff is always so friendly! Course is in excellent condition this time of year. A nice mix of challenging holes and easier holes. The signature par 3 is lots of fun!
Great course but pace of play is slow
This is a great layout and the clubhouse is nice. My only negative is the pace of play. The course really should have a course marshal. I also think they should also play in groups of four instead of twosomes.
Awesome practice facilities
The course itself is pretty good. Challenging layout and picturesque views. The practice facilities however are the main draw. They have separate chipping, putting and range areas, with hundreds of free range balls on the chipping green for anyones use.
Great course
We had a great day at Angel Fire. The staff was friendly and helpful and we played with some fine people. The structure was helpful as the Marshall kept everyone moving and on time.
