Compadre 2015 trip Photo submitted by lpgallegos1 on 06/01/2015
Greens are in poor condition.
I’ve played at the Inn of the Mountain Gods for many years. The greens were in fair shape last year, but they continue to decline to the point of being unacceptable. For the fee that is charged, I certainly expect the greens to be much better.
Good but not great
The fareways are decent. The bunkers are in good shape. We were able to go out as a twosome which was nice. The pace of play is well managed. We saw marshals at least four times. The starters, the marshals, pro shop, beverage cart person, and even the maintenance crews were all super friendly and accommodating.
The greens are all in need of repair. Many dead or bare areas. Several of the tee boxes are in bad shape too.
Terrible conditions
Green fees should be half or less. Tee boxes and greens are in terrible condition, definitely NOT a championship course. Course of play was unbearable, gps carts are slowing down the pace. I saw people so far from their cart they might as well walk the course or get a lift from the Marshall. Unable to load photos.
Inn of the mountain gods golf
Beautiful course. Staff is friendly. Starter let us go out as a twosome. Greens need some work as do the tee boxes.
Course Condition Fair
Over all this is a pretty nice course.
Layout and general conditions are good.
Conditions When I played on 6/7/24:
Tee boxes - most were in decent shape.
Fairways - most all were in decent condition but there were a handful that appeared to have areas that were burned from being over fertilized.
Greens - more than half of the greens had over fertilized burned areas generally in the centers of the greens. And about 4 or 5 of the greens had wildlife (deer & elk) damage that appeared to be at least a few days old - that should have been repaired but were not.
Overall - I will recommend it and will play it again. It is a little bit on the higher side of greens fees - which is why l would have expected fairways and greens to be in better condition than they were on 6/7/24.
Beautiful settings.
Great course greens were slow and in rough shape course is near to be shut down for winter.
So really unfair to fate the greens.
Def play again.
Cancelled and forfeited green fees
Heard greens were in terrible shape after greens were plugged and sanded. Still bad shape after 3 weeks
Not mentioned when tee times booked
Beautiful course
This is the most beautiful course we have played on. Love going there.
Well Kept!
I loved playing here except for my score. It is in very good shape but kind of challenging.
Loved it!
Excellent
Everything about the day was excellent. Friendly people. Great course. And the new buggies are excellent. Never had a buggy like it.
Best value for the money
We are from Ruidoso. We play here weekly along with the Inn of the mountain Gods. Best places to play in the area.
Former championship course now in disrepari
Staff was extremely friendly, something we had not experienced in the past. The facilities were in bad need of paint, there was no bottled water for sale, green were bumpy and fairways had very little grass in multiple areas. Before the course was always marshalled and a 4 hour round was mandatory but this time we waited on every hole for a very slow group. Carts were very old and the GPS did not work, which we did not know ahead of time so that we could have brough our GPS. Not a $100/round course anymore.
