Mountain golf
Beautiful course in excellent condition, greens were nice and fast, pace of play was excellent. 3.5 hrs for our round. This is a must see if your in the area two thumbs up.
7-5-19 round
Great layout and beautiful scenery. Pro shop staff was great and accommodating. Marshall and beverage cart very friendly as well. Area could use a little rain and some areas were showing a little stress from the heat. Great round and afternoon overall.
Spectacular Views
Awesome layout. The view from the different T boxes around the course are unbelievable. We will definitely come back.
Great course
This was my first time on the course and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was very well maintained and greens were beautiful. By far this has been the best golf course that I have ever played. I definitely recommend this course.
Beautiful but tough
I play a lot of golf and have a 12 handicap. This course plays long even at altitude because of green elevations. Greens are not easy to read and I misread a lot of putts. I played by myself and would have benefitted from playing with someone who understood landing zones as I was often on wrong side of fairway on blind tee shots. Would definitely play again. This time of year easy to get on and never waited, also some good specials. Greens were two weeks post aeration so still a little bumpy.
Doesn’t get much better than this
The weather, the views, the condition, the challenge, and the greens were excellent but fast. Lot of tall pines and some were in the middle of the fairways but it just added to the challenge. The play was slow but you don’t mind so much because it gives you a chance to take in the breath taking views and the lovely weather in the summertime. Not really much trouble at all if you keep your ball in the fairways. As a 16 handicapper I shot 91 and enjoyed the round more than the last 15 played elsewhere
Sad to See Courae Condition
We have played the course many times when staying there & it's the only way to play it. Not worth the $75/pp for a couple. Course was not in the best condition. Also, except for 3 holes, we had two to 2 mowers rushing around the entire round. On one hole, we had to wait while a bunker guy was doing fast circles working the bunker. This was early afternoon. Never again.
Challenging track
Being able to shape your shots off the tee is a must. Trees everywhere, including places they probably shouldn't be. If your tee shot is in the short grass 150 yards from green you should NOT have to maneuver your ball around a 150 ft pine tree in the middle of the fairway. Some very unique and exciting holes make for an overall pleasant experience. Course was very dry, but I don't fault the maintenance crew. It's been a very dry season in NM.
Better than past three rounds in three years
The staff was friendlier than times in the past. Did not have to play course with cart path only conditions. Did not feel like they just wanted our money and doing us a favor for taking it as in years past.
Nice course
This course was amazing!! Awesome views and was well taken care of!
Beautifully Magestic Golf
We got an unbelievable rate through GolfNow. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Special shout out for the Marshall, Layton Black! The carts with the display screens were very helpful since none of the 4 of us were familiar with the course. We loved how it was laid out, and it was in great shape, considering how dry it’s been here. Looking forward to our next round July 4.
Not their fault
Ruidoso really needs rain now. Very dry spell. July hopefully will bring the rainy season. The course will be back to great shape. It’s still worth the money on golf now. If you can play for 60 or less.
For the Money
If you can get a good rate with golf now. It's well worth the money, I don't any coarse in the world is worth 100 or more. Thanks golf now.
Beautiful...but tough
One of the most scenic courses I've ever played. Surrounding mountains can take you away from the difficulty of the course. A lot of elevation changes. Collars around greens were a little rough and made short chips difficult. Being from flatlands of Texas, I could have used an extra day or two of acclimating to the thin air in mountains. Pace yourself, drink a lot of water if not used to this elevation (7000+). Real penalties if you ball is off fairways. Huge Pines will always be in play and in your lines. VERY NICE COURSE.
